Re: Where's all the gooey soft games I remember?

I never played live PLO in Vegas (do they run outside of WSOP?) but the full ring PLO games at the EPT's are mostly 8 handed and pretty fun to play. Highlight for me was probably a 23K pot at 10/20PLO 4 way preflop all in (and yes winning with KKQQds).

Re: Where's all the gooey soft games I remember?

It's the "pros" sitting there with headphones on being completely anti-social and not cracking a smile acting like there 5-10 cash game is the final table of the wsop that has driven away the big fish.

IT IS JUST NOT FUN TO PLAY IN THOSE GAMES! Fish play to have fun... it's not fun to play in those games... fish play BJ instead because they know poker will be gay.

Can you imagine being a newb and joining one of todays games? It would be the most intimidating thing ever and most likely wouldn't even take a seat.

^^
So true

but thats how its gonna be... nothing you say will convince people to stop wearing headphones and start trying to entertain fish at the tables. even online this can be true to some extent, I think. ive seen total fishes sit at 5/10+ (online) and start typing in the chat about whatever. typically, nobody is going to reply. if youre only playing a couple of tables, you probably should though.

for example... at least 5, maybe 6 out of 9 players at my day 1 tables of the wsop main event were super nice guys who clearly sucked at the game. those guys would certainly be losers at 5/10 live, let alone online. actually, i ran into one of them during the break and he started complaining about this very thing : internet kids with no respect who shove flush draws blah blah blah. if at least they weren't made to feel disrespected, there's a much higher chance they would come back but I really think that fishes in tough cash games are being made to feel like fishes a lot of the time.

hmm, i mentionned those guys because i just kept thinking : if they can afford to put up 10k for a donkament, why do i never see them in cash games? i just think they've given up on cash. we need guys like them. but really im just rambling cause like i said, i dont think theres any way to improve this situation.
