Re: Weed and poker

Won the big $11 last Saturday completely stoned. Ripped 2 bongs every break and smoked a few joints while grinding the ipad outside. Played relaxed, focused and folded spots I wouldn't have if I was sober. I have a deeper sense of control on my game since I started smoking + grinding.

Weed helps me with this alot, but its obv unhealthy. I've heard meditation can have good effects and I'd rather not have to rely on drugs to grind. I just started trying some guided meditation but I'm a complete noob. If anyone has experience here and it helped them with focus/tilt please PM me.

Re: Weed and poker

Weed is bad for poker, and this is coming from a stoner.

I started smoking pot after I got into cards. For a while I convinced myself that smoking and playing was +EV. I found that I was "centered" during my sessions and that I was able to control my tilt much much better.

I've come to realize however, that the mitigating circumstances going on in the real world often heavily influence the "high" and can make the experience heavily -EV. One could make the argument that you should not be playing to begin with when there are these negative influences in your life.

I'm primarily a live player, but I found that, while I may enjoy playing more when stoned for the simple fact that I'm stoned, my decision making processes and logical thinking are so much better when I'm clear headed (go figure).

At the end of the day we are all like little snowflakes. Weed could be a positive influence for some of you and a negative for others. THC is going to enhance your cognitions for the simple reason that there is an influx of seratonin. So, if you are focused on grinding with nothing lurking in your thoughts you will focus on only that. If you are blazed out of your mind, playing out of your bankroll, and havent slept in 37 hours, it is only going to exacerbate those negativities.

I crush and smoke, so it can be done.

Re: Weed and poker

I listen to "rootz underground" while playing and it has the same positive effects as smoking weed and none of the negative.

Re: Weed and poker

I smoke and crush games regularly. Obviously it makes you play on a higher level than possible sober.

If anybody wants to challenge me while I get high as you can see on webcam and think they can crush me due to me being high then pm me.

We can play hu.
