Has everybody received their refund?? I have still not seen a penny from this second round of refunds, although I know for sure I have played numerous times against players on the superuser list.

I received a refund back in May. I still show that I was due additonal money. I called UB security and they told me all refunds have been issued and if you did not receive anything it's because you were not cheated.

I find it hard to believe that I was cheated when there was a list of about 10 superusers. But now the list has grown to 80+ and nothing additional is owed to me. It just seems weird.

it struck me as odd my refund was so low the first time around considering i played probably more than all you guys since a long time ago.
11-06-2008 , 12:06 PM
would this not have happened if it werent for you guys fightnig against >UB?
11-06-2008 , 12:44 PM
Such a joke I contacted this site about this I for sure played and got cheated on the site my handle was dellp00ker i only played the higher level games when i played ub. Just a joke that the main people getting paid back are just the ones who lodged the most complaints....

My case exactly. Furthermore I know I have played against players on the new list, I remember them clearly. Unfortunately I have lost my HHs and can't prove it.

Well, they gave me 12k for my new account. But for my old they said I wasn't entitled to any, which is ridiculous. I played on it for almost a year and played almost everyone at 5-10+. I specifically remember some long degen sessions vs unknown donks who would take several buyins from me playing super ******ed, that one - DannyBoy or something I remember seeing in the list.

I used to tilt so badly against him. Is there a published list of users? I'd like to see if any ring a bell, too lazy to look through the thread.

Hi guys this is my 1st post on 2+2 and I'd like a bit of advice in regard to the cheating scandal.

I played UB from 2004 to ealry 2006 at 5-10 to 50-100 NLHE 7 days a week. However, from mid 2005 I experienced huge losses to several spewtards making ****** plays and consistently sucking out. This went on for months. I was borderline broke. I suspected something was dodgy, and emailed the security and support teams several times without response. Needless to say I left the site.

Tonight I logged in to an old email account I have to pick up a mail from a long distance friend and came across this email from UB:

Dear **********,

As you may be aware, we have recently been engaged in an on-going investigation of allegations of unfair play at UltimateBet. The investigation determined that the cheating scheme was active and fully underway well before we purchased UltimateBet in October 2006. Furthermore, no one implicated in the cheating had ever been an employee of UltimateBet or of Tokwiro Enterprises ENRG, UltimateBet's current parent company. Consequently, we have been pursuing claims related to the cheating scandal against the previous owner of UltimateBet, Excapsa Software.

On November 3, 2008, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice approved a settlement of our claims against Excapsa Software. Under the terms of this settlement, Excapsa will pay Blast-Off Ltd., the Tokwiro-controlled company that originally acquired UltimateBet an amount of US$15 million. We intend to apply this settlement to the final round of refunds to customers who were victims of the cheating scheme. This favorable outcome before the courts validates our claims against UltimateBet's previous ownership with respect to the cheating scandal. We are very pleased with this outcome that benefits both our customers and our company.

Our investigation has concluded that your account flamey was victimized by the cheater. This account has been refunded for any losses against accounts associated with unfair play.

"Net loss" is the sum of the money that you lost to the accounts in question minus the sum of the money you won from them. On this basis, we have calculated that you are entitled to a refund in the amount of $128,256.00. If you have any questions about the refund process, please write to us at pokersecurity@ultimatebet.com or call (1.888.200.2933).

We want to express to you our sincere gratitude for your patience, loyalty, support, and your understanding that Tokwiro has acted, and continues to do everything it can to correct this situation. We also want to reiterate Tokwiro's and UltimateBet's commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for our players and our unwavering resolve to monitor our site security with every resource at our disposal.

Since the cheating was exposed in early 2008, we have worked tirelessly to understand what happened and how it happened; to ensure that it could never happen again; to refund our customers for their illegitimate losses at UltimateBet; and to pursue our claims against the former ownership that sold Tokwiro a business that exposed Tokwiro and our customers to illicit activity. With the November 3 Ontario Court decision in our favor, our claims against Excapsa are settled and our refunds to you and to all UltimateBet players who were affected by unfair play will be completed. This concludes our efforts for justice and compensation for Tokwiro and our customers affected by this cheating scandal.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

OMG. So I had been cheated after all. Obviously I'm over the moon at this result and decided to ring the phone number supplied in the email to speak to the security department to confirm. They have confirmed that the refund is sitting in my account but my account is currently disabled and I am unable to login. Obv I said reactivate it and let me withdraw the funds, their answer? "Sorry sir, we are only dealing with the refunds and in order to reactivate your account you are going to have to email our security team." No reason why my account has been disabled, nothing. WTF? $128k is a substantial amount of money to anybody, and now I can't access my account! I have emailed the security dept. without reply as of yet and am just a bit concerned to say the least.

So I'm after some advice please guys. Does anybody know of a contact number for the direct security or cashier department? Obviously I'm entitled to this money, I just don't know which road to take...

All advice is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Jay

Thanks for reply boosted. I've emailed them earlier on tonite m8, but no reply. I just dont understand why my account would be disabled. The money is in my account as confirmed on phone so I'm entitled to withdraw it right? Just don't fancy a sh**load of hassle again.

U know anybody personally in the security team I could speak 2?

Cheers

As long as u didn't do anything like bounce a ton of checks or what not. I wouldn't worry about it. I got my refund in an account that i no longer used. I simply called them and it was no problem.

Flamey,

you should be able to cashout fine. they might ask you to send proof of identity, but other than that you shouldn't have a problem.

I've cashed out from there before obv mate, but why would they disable my account? I haven't played there since Jan 2006 and I still haven't received a reply from the security team to my emails yet so I'm obv a bit concerned. Surely they have to let me withdraw cash that has been, and i quote from the email, "illegitimately obtained"?

Sorry to keep going on and repeating myself m8 but 128k is a lot of $ to me and i'm starting to go paranoid!!!

Thanks Rubbrband and to all.

Ub has the fastest cashouts of pretty much anywhere, but ub and ap have been stepping up security recently and making people show id for any cashouts much larger than 1k.

I think it probably has more to do with them trying to prevent 10+mil leaving their site in a matter of days.

At the same time they do have legitimate security concerns and need to step things up.

They need to do this anyways, but the fact that is coincides with a ton of degens getting 5 and 6 figures dumped into their accounts likely is no coincidence.

You will 99.9% chance get all your money, but it might take a week or 2.

Hey I played during the time of this scam... I cant remember if i played with the crooks or not.. I remember im_sleeping and green plastic and the regulars but I dont remember all those random little names.

I run a business and am familiar with filling suits and **** so I was wondering if anyone has any legal info about A) what body has jurisdiction over these bozos B) where do i file a legal complain and C) why not SUBPEONA the hand histories so they have to release them?

If you believe you've suffered damages personally, but arent sure, who do we sue? Why are we letting the fox investigate the henhouse here? I don't trust these bozos to do the right thing. I want legal action to force the release of all relevant documents, and if they're hiding or withholding evidence, that should be ****ing obstruction.

Yah, me too. I tilted a ton vs him and some other unknown donks and refused to quit them even after being down 7-8 BI. **** UB. I really doubt I only lost 12k in my new acc as well. They might even edit hh`s before releasing them, ffs..
11-16-2008 , 12:15 PM
flamey, i agree with everyone else. UB is random and unprofessional with its security locks and checks but you will get the money.
11-22-2008 , 04:26 PM
So I asked UB to send me all of my HHs the day the issued the refunds but still haven't received them: "yada yada yada, we're working as hard as we can".
Has anybody successfully retrieved theirs?
