Testing for High Stakes Zoom

Hello all,

We will be running a Zoom Test for highstakes players in Monday. The test will take place on testPokerStars.com, and last for an hour or so.

The purpose of this test is to identify any possible bumhunting exploits within Zoom, which is why we need players who are experienced at these stakes and who know the nature of the problems we are trying to eliminate.

If you are a high stakes player and you’re interested in participating in this test, send me a PM with your PokerStars UserID and your availability on Monday. I will then send you more details to the e-mail address you have registered with us.

Best Regards
Baard

you can bumhunt and easily spot a player and see in which zoom stake he is playing.. although you will only randomly get picked to be on same table as far as im concerned

All play on .test is for imaginary money. It will seem as though you play for real money, but there are no cashouts. I will credit your accounts with the necessary funds.

. I think he is asking at what stakes you want to implement rush if you decide to do it.

That is yet to be decided.

Don't think you can recreate the environment like that.

Preemptively plan for bumhunter exploits by inviting non bumhunters to play imaginary stakes vs each other for an hour. I bet you'll get great results!

Well yeah, but everyone who tries it can see if there's anything that can be exploited, even if they don't intend on doing it themselves.

Re: Testing for High Stakes Zoom

How many players needed to test zoom? Like 20-40? Lets just say every high stakes player makes $200/hr. PS makes billions of $ off their customers every year, but they are asking for $4,000+/hr of free evaluation from skilled professionals in the top of their field?

Oh but wait... it's GOOD for the players because if they can put in some free hours of beta testing to try and improve PS products and inevitably increase PS bottom line then at least they will be able to put their 2 cents in (which may or may not be ignored) so they can MAYBE make more $$$ at their profession too. SOUNDS LIKE A DEAL!

It doesn't work like this in any other profession. You think companies that make lawn mowers go find some lawn care professional and say, "Hey buddy, come mow 100 lawns for us for FREE with our new prototype mower and MAYBE we will successfully produce an awesome lawnmower that will save you time and money in your profession!

NO, what they do is they find a lawn care professional and either hire him to come work for them to test their mowers or give him a FREE mower to use in exchange for his expert feedback.

Instead of asking for FREE consultation from professionals why don't you offer SOMETHING in return. Reduced rake, pay them some hourly wage, or I don't give a **** if it's just a T-shirt, but for F's sake it's insulting to just act like people should be honored to put in their free time in to help make your company better and more profitable.

It's sad that the poker market is in such bad shape and players are so desperate for games to get better and more available that PS can pull this **** and have people actually consider doing it or at least without anyone finding it the least bit offensive.

This is just my 2 cents that has been accumulating for a while. It might not be worth that much but I just wanted to float it out there to see if anyone else is thinking this way or if I'm the only one seeing this as PS trying to represent this beta testing opportunity as great customer involvement and consideration of their needs when they are really just looking for free labor and expertise to help increase their profits. If so, I guess there are reasons I'm not seeing that make online poker different from any other industry I'm aware of.

Re: Testing for High Stakes Zoom

stars could roll out a zoom product that allows abuse of the system in some way and it wouldn't make that much difference to them but would make it very annoying for the players. I'm pleased that stars are trying to work with players to get a solution that will be good to play on and not abusable.

hahaha

Hoopman do you even play stakes above 5/10 ring regularly? This is where most of the problem is. 25/50 up is disastrous, especially with that ****ing bumhunting program. I'm really interested to see how this pans out, gl on improving the games baard
