I've done a whole bunch Echecks to BMO without issue. The limit is something like 2650 if I remember right. All of them have posted within two days.

Has anyone sent wires from their TD account to their US bank account without being in a TD branch? When I opened the TD account he said I had to be in a physical branch to send a wire, but I thought I had read you should be able to send it via fax from anywhere. Any help is appreciated

At my branch I was told that I had to be physically located in the branch to send wires as well. There might be a way around this if you personally meet with a branch manager.

have used 888 poker and party poker a few times directly to my RBC account. Both worked fine. 888 is kind of slow. Might be quicker to accually go to MB then to the bank for them. Party is fast. usually takes 2-3 days.

+44 8703830232. It's a local UK number, but if you call it from Skype I think its about 25c per minute. Its only open during UK business hours, but they are quick and efficient at answering questions. Def worth paying for the long distance call.

Ok cool thanks, it must be after business hours in the UK now so I'll try again later.

Sorry, I read this somewhere on the forum, but not sure where...and I actually just arrived and looking for a bank now. I remember someone saying there is a bank where you can open an account where they have american and canadian dollar accounts and transfers between the two has no fees associated. If anyone knows this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

My stay in Toronto is coming to an end. I have two 30inch Samsung Syncmaster 305T monitors that I'd like to sell before I leave. They are in ok shape, I have been using them for 2-3 years and haven't had any problems with them. If anyone is interested in buying these contact me - I am leaving Dec 31st. I value them at $700 a piece.

Has anyone filed for an extension of their visitor's visa and received a reply at all?

Does anyone know if Party Poker will accept a US ID for verification purposes (along with Canadian lease info, etc)? I assume they will (as stars does), but I want to make sure before sending it in and causing unnecessary problems.

Yes, passport plus utility bill will work - guessing passport+lease would probably work too.

TD Canada trust has a very easy to use website and converting money between USD and CAN is simple and one of the better rates around. My stay in Canada is coming to a close and I just converted a large amount of CAN (from a live tournament cash) to USD at a better rate than offered through the website by calling The Vancouver Bullion and Currency Exchange (http://www.vbce.ca/) for their rate and TD matched it for me at a nearby brance. I was amazed the wire of the converted amount to my Chase account hit the very next day.

I was in the same situation and it was fine with moneybookers, stars and all the other sites. Just explain to them, and ask if theres anythign else you can provide them to help with the verification process

Flying to Toronto today. Just discovered my ATT plan does not help in Toronto. I have an unlocked iPhone4.

What are my best options? Does ATT offer anything in .CA at all?

Gonna be there for ~5 months, then no idea what I'm doing after WSOP.

I spoke with AT&T yesterday and I was told my only option with them for international calls would be 2.29/minute. That's the best they could do. I asked a bit on HSPLO and those guys seem to agree that calling cards are the way to go. I don't know how they work yet but looking into it.

If its unlocked just search around for the local providers and get a pay as you go plan and get a sim card for that provider. You can get them for like a $50-$80/month that includes talk/text/data but no contract. You will get a canadian phone # though, then just call your current provider and you can put a hold on your plan/phone # for like $5/month till you go back.

http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/in...=worldpackages

Whoever you talked to at ATT didn't know what they are talking about. As long as you meet their eligibility requirements you can add an international roaming and global messaging plan and be able to receive calls and get texts at your existing U.S. phone number.

Yeah my wife and I were able to change our plan over while we were up there to be on a US/Canadian plan and it wasn't a whole lot more per month. In fact, the second time we were there we were able to have them switch it over mid-trip and back date to the start of our trip. I'd give them a call back.

I'm in Toronto now looking at places but don't have a lease signed anywhere. Would I be able to open a bank account anywhere without a permanent address?
