Re: The Portuguese Poker Prodigy José “Girah” Macedo Scammed HSNL players for >$30,000 NVG xpos
The fact that jungleman claims he hasn't thought much about how this may hurt his reputation is a joke. He's amidst a grand scandal where 40k+ has been stolen from innocent players by his 'supposed' stakee/student that he has vouched for 100 times in am over-the-top fashion (trying to ENSURE everyone multiple times this guy is the real deal and will crush the world). How could this possibly not hurt your reputation? He is scum. I've been following this closely and I'm sick of people giving him the benefit of the doubt cause he's been silent this whole time unlike his dumb ass accomplice who he still claims had good intentions. If you're truly innocent get your ass on the forums you regularly frequent (not so much this last week huh?) and explain yourself. Every minute he comtinues his silence I hope people trust him less and less

Re: The Portuguese Poker Prodigy José “Girah” Macedo Scammed HSNL players for >$30,000 NVG xpos
Fortunately or unfortunately, this saga is nearing the end. The only plausible lead remaining is Sauce and "X". Without the help of poker sites/forums tracking their IP and email, identified screen names leading to any of this trio, or one of them breaking a possible code of silence, the final chapter has been written.
Other than "X", the only other plausible lead remaining is that Jose contacted a coach in Nov 2009 and mentioned he opened his first account on FTP around Sept 09 and witnessed the Isildur/Durrrr matches. I looked through most of ptr's top portugal winners alltime for FTP and nothing stood out except 1 account with $50k in winnings correlating to that timeframe and stakes he would have been playing.

He knew people were being scammed basically, paying $500/hr or higher to get coached by a fraudster, who is staked by jungleman himself.

I agree, but this possible situation is going quite deeper and wasn't asked about in that particular question.
I'd like to add that there also a possibility that he didn't want to disclose DIH name to public as the backer behind the disqualification. Then it's milder offense as ghosting is not a skam of the same level with chipdamping.
If he didn't want to disclose DIH/Jose as possible chipdampers then it's a different story.

Pathetic interview, and what a terrible terrible mistake for his career.
Really goes to show you how careful you have to be when you hire people to "handle" your career, whether it's agents, publicists, etc...I guess more so when the people in question are scammers themselves, but wow...this is definitely not going to help his rep at all.
I feel like there is some gap in my understanding of Jose
Hmmm....no ****.

Another name to add to the list of coaches that was approached by Jose for training: Niman Kenkre from Bluefire posted this on a link I posted on my Facebook earlier today:
"for whatever it's worth, jose approached me for lessons about a year or so ago. I did not have any openings at that time. He was pretty persistent and offered to pay double my rate. Not sure what to make of that, but at the very least, it would indicate that he is a real person."

Its also another indication that Jose seemed to be actively trying to gain relationships with HS players in order to scam them.

Lock is currently on Merge Network, not Cake. You are not allowed to change your name on Merge afaik, but people do have multiple accounts across many skins (not suggesting they play at the same time, but they could switch accounts or create new accounts on different skins to get more action).

my opinion on the "agent" thing is that it's a question of semantics -- Haseeb undoubtedly helped Jose as a friend and advisor but I don't think he was officially his "agent." My understanding was that Jose signed with Poker Royalty and they "officially" represented him (i recall seeing a press release about it when they signed him).

i didn't address this because i thought it was redundant (and i may have mentioned it earlier), but he sent us the same letter

He's probally only getting robbed if he's indeed not guilty. If he is, he's probally making a correct decision for his own matter to not answer any question on this forum and leave the detectives ignored.

This is getting kind of confusing. We now have multiple coaches saying itt and elsewhere that Jose approached them trying to get paid coaching but that nothing came of it - ie that they didn't receive money for coaching him. It's kind of a gross question, so ignore/delete if it is beyond the bounds, but did he actually pay anyone for coaching?
