My roommate did one of the NorCal ones last year, supposed to be a blast. Definitely going to check it out this fall.

I did the warrior dash (another 5k obstacle course) and it was an absolute blast. Training was fun, the race was awesome, and ofc everyone is in a great mood afterwards and the partying begins. I'd definitely recommend it.

Costume might suck if it gets in the way. Whiskey either gets to be a better or worse idea the more you drink.

Is Charlie joining you?

Seems like great news, but to play devil's advocate, they could simply be going through the interview process so there are people lined up if the deal is done. Would they really wait until after it's set in stone to hire? (I have no idea, tbh)

No clue.. haven't really put much thought into that yet. Maybe he'll come if we could find someone to hang out with him and if they allow it?

i just can't believe i never thought of it like this
Quote:
The risks associated with making $200 are much much higher in low stakes cash games than that in higher stakes cash games. Basically a $200 profit can be realized in one (1) strong hand/pot in a $10/$20 blind level game, versus having to grind all day and having to go perhaps all-in in $1/$2 NL games. The need for taking risks is diminished and any need for putting yourself all-in is diminished in higher stakes cash games. Playing tighter big hands and picking your spots, is the ultimate outcome in high stakes cash games and no need to go all-in on draws or coin toss situations.

Playing at much higher stakes in poker (ie: $10/$20 blinds), can often sometimes make it easier and faster for players to earn serious money, without having to take all the risks that a player normally would have to take in a lower stakes $1/$2 NL cash game
looool

so i dunno much about any of this, but say each state legalizes online gambling individually, but no federal legislation is passed.

will residents of california be able to play with/against residents of every other state, or will you have to only play with people in your state on sites that are licensed/regulated by the state?
04-03-2012 , 11:58 PM
Every state has its own player pool ie Californians get to play against other Californians.

However, two states can combine player pools if they work something out. Right now, Nevada is supposedly trying to get California to partner up but it seems highly unlikely California would agree unless Nevada makes a Godfather offer where it gives CA tons of licensing fees.
