Cliffs:
-BOL employees know all player passwords and login #’s.
-My account along with jakedamus account were hacked and our money lost.
-Not one other account of ours in (poker acct, email, etc) was hacked at the time or has been since (1mo since mine was hacked and at least a couple since his was)
-BOL requires a login # different than screen name, so hacker would need access to our email or our computer.

i had massive problems with them before. stay away
edit: the guys at sportsbookreview helped me out... you might try there... here's my post on their forum: http://forum.sbrforum.com/sportsbook...un-around.html

It's standard at most books for the employees to know your password - that's how they confirm who you are for live support. Can check at the more reputable books (5dimes, bookmaker etc...) you'll see they ask the same thing.
BOL has a good history of rectifying problems but don't even bother with them until TC has been paid back in full.

Just because its standard (which is worrying in the first place) does not make it god ****ing awful. There are many ways to confirm your identity without knowing your password, tons of other institutions do it every day.

It is awful but this is how they've been operating for the past 20 years. A lot of these operations are owned by older men thing 60, 70+. Who like to keep status quo. Most of them have very good security teams and I'm pretty sure the issue will be resolved.
Honestly, having money on any u.s. facing operation is very risky right now. Even if the site is reputable their funds could be seized overnight. Given the size of BOL I promise you they're undoubtedly on the DOJ watch list.

Wow really? Did not know this. All the online companies I've ever dealt with (literally from AOL onwards) have always said that they will NEVER ask you for your password.
Just shows how backwards the online poker/sportsbook industry is.

Reason: with the exception of a few big name companies, of course.

This is from Blackdog/Rebatewagers heyday. They could have been easily running a 100mm operations with this setup. =x

i have a mac laptop with no security program installed on it what should i do?

Macs don't have that annoying Norton crap because they don't really get viruses. Not strictly true as it was in the past, but as long as you didn't download and install something you should be fine.
However that link may have been something like sketchywebsite.com/?email=rbk@gmail.com which let's them confirm your email is legit, so you might get some spam.

fwiw considering i know many people on here have macs, they should still take precautions against online threats. some recent articles:
http://www.zdnet.com/cross-platform-...ux-7000000872/
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...-for-Macs.html
most attacks come from java vulnerabilities, and if you don't want to turn it off completely, you could use something like http://noscript.net.
there's better guides on computer stuff but some basics are not to download random files, don't go to random websites and/or install random web applets, and keep computer/anti-virus/security/firewall software up to date.
every so often you could also run https://browsercheck.qualys.com/ which is pretty decent in checking your setup.

Re: ** Official July ''Jeans saying: ''ex millionairi (finnish)'' thread **
I just went to Ink last night, Michael Voltaggio's restaurant.
It was sick good. Nothing was over the top nor gimmicky. I did see some liquid nitrogen dish w/mist coming off if you're into that.
We started off with duck rilette, blown away by that, and from there on, pretty much every dish continued to blow my mind. My favorite was burata on top of ice lettuce, the texture and flavor was pretty amazing. Cocktails were spectacular as well. Oysters dish with ice on it + a leaf w/some jelly on it was also really good. pork belly, lamb shoulder, all droollllll.
Voltaggio was there, didn't smile as usual, he came out for a breather while we were getting our car, so I sheepishly go over to shake his hand and thank him for an awesome meal. He said thanks, I left a little starstruck.
Would definitely go every year if not month if I lived in LA.

Re: ** Official July ''Jeans saying: ''ex millionairi (finnish)'' thread **
Anyone here into artwork or photography? I've got several Peter Lik photo's and a couple of paintings by a guy named Alexander Volkov, need like 2-3 more pieces for the house, any suggestions? Fwiw I don't know much about art or photography at all, I just kinda bought those b/c I like the way they look, that's about as deep as my thought process goes when it comes to artwork.....

Do you have lights that dim? I don't know if all peter lik photos are printed on this special type of paper but the ones that feature light coming from a sun, when you're dimming the lights and slowly turning them on, it looks like a sunrise or sunset, pretty sweet.

Yeah, all the Peter Lik photos are printed on that paper and have different effects in different lighting which is rly cool. Me and my fiancé are actually debating whether or not to get track lighting above each picture to make use of this feature or not, we're leaning towards prob not b/c we feel like it'd make the house feel more like an art gallery, and it's not completely neccesary as that effect can be seen differently at dusk/dawn anyways.
