I haven't been to Urasawa or Masa

but

Sen of Japan is imho the BEST sushi restaurant in the USA, and possibly the world (I wasn't too impressed w/sushi @ Tsukiji Market, Tokyo). Hands down, not even close. I'm more of a niguiri purist(snob) and this place blew pretty much everything I've had out of the water. I may have to go back before I leave.

kabuto makes sen seem like the pre-made rolls you get at the poker kitchen (n I like sen).

oh also matsuhisa is also better then sen by a decent margin (owner n head chef of sen worked at nobu for years before starting sen and sen is influenced greatly by nobu/matsuhisa)

edit: just for the record I only eat negri n sashimi so not commenting on any cooked dishes at any of the places in question.

Re: ** Official July ''Jeans saying: ''ex millionairi (finnish)'' thread **

uh yeah I went to Sen last year in Vegas
First thing worth mentioning is that they were out of Toro and a couple of other things
Second thing worth mentioning is the rest of the food wasn't anything to write home about either, in fact I would go out of my way to say it was pretty bad and not to go there. Had a worse experience at Blue ribbon Sushi tho (entirely service related).

I feel like I've been to a million places better than Sen, entirely forgettable experience

obv it was the guy he took the date that upset him the most, not the food.

Re: ** Official July ''Jeans saying: ''ex millionairi (finnish)'' thread **

Haven't been to Kabuto. It looks pretty impressive.

Ex Nobu chef running Sen makes sense seeing how a lot of the fish was treated. Was definitely comparable and seriously competitive. If you factor in price and accessibility I'm probably gonna go every week if Kabuto doesn't blow my mind.

Dunno how Deldar could think it was bad and I trust that he can pick out a good restaurant over almost anyone.

Why do so many poker players enjoy sushi by the way?
I take pounds upon pounds of meat over fish any day
