Any love for The Shield? I know it's a few years old but I'm just watching it now (just finished season 5) and it's up there with Breaking Bad and The Wire for me.

Recently discovered it myself, great stuff, Vic is well hard, am on Series 3. Having seen both the Wire and Breaking Bad I'd have to agree with you, but BB slightly pips them all I think. (probably just because, as a PhD chemist, I'd like to think I could knock a few batches up in my shed should I go broke. As Heisenberg has been taken I think Id have to call myself Dirac I guess.)

Can one of you Wire addicts help me out. Towards the end of season 3 Stringer talks face to face with Colvin in the graveyard about getting rid of Avon and at the end says "it's just business". Then the night before Stringer gets offed Avon subtly says "it's just business" when they're talking on the roof. I don't recall Avon and Colvin ever having a conversation in the whole series so how could Avon know he said that?

or was he talking about Clay Davis?

forgot the specifics behind this conversation, but pretty sure this is just coincidence within the story's narrative, probably with the intention of pointing to how everyone in the show is aware of and controlled by similar codes of conduct and ideologies

The wire does this a few times. Two characters saying pretty much the same exact line. I dont know how far you are so going to put in spoilers, not really spoilers but quotes from seasons past 3. I also believe this is supposed to signal similarities between the seemingly different characters(although not really so in your example)

Bunny Colvin and Stringer Bell both say "Get on with it mother ****er" before their demise

Tehre are a lot more but these are the two that pop in my head first.
