Lol were 19 to 21, yer we are not hardcore guys or anything hence the two and a half men and idol, just found the wire to be very dull and pictured like a bad movie imo, maybe being unfair cos I did only see series 1 but I think that’s the point though, if u cant be super taken in by any first series it just doesn’t cut it, can see why it was a hit a few years back but since then there has been some awesome stuff about.

entourage is pure mindless entertainment. the wire actually makes u think and pay attention. when u watch the wire u either get it or u dont. if u think entourage is a better show u obv dont get it...not that there's anything wrong w/ that. but ur opinion about a show u dont understand isnt really valid either in that case.

Myself and 7 other poker players were living with eachother recently so there was a lot of TV/ series watched, I had bought the first session of the wire (half price at £25, wow) after reading everyone’s comments here. In order of what we were watching, keep in mind we are all Euro it would go, office us, scrubs new eps, American idol, two and a half men, flight of the conchords, and then the wire, the wire was an ok watch but that was it, we did finish session one fast but had no intention of watching session 2, its so dated and very slow regardless whether u gota watch all 3 sessions totalling 100 hours of your life to get to the best bit. Over all we have all agreed that entourage is just in a league of its own and beats most in every department.

takes a long time before he actually gets interesting. all he does in the first 3/4's of the episodes he is in is looking intimidating while not saying anything.

fwiw, i found the first season incredibly interesting/amusing. i do not understand how people say it's slow. oh well.

for the age bracket of like 18 and under i totally get how mindless entertainment (entourage) is preferred. hell, it's def a solid show. but once you get past a certain level, (wanting to think even an iota) the wire just trumps everything

i'm still trying to figure ziggy out and why he's so obsessed with burning money (sometimes literally) in front of people. i get the whole lack of respect from others aspect of it but i think there's a little more than that. i'm sure after repeated viewing i will get his character and where he's coming from when he acts out.

and this is why i love the wire.

mused, of all the wire characters, ziggy is worth the least amount of thought. he sucks.
