and the brags keep rolling. i went into best buy, well researched and ready for a battle. i dealt with an incredibly nice guy named Eric, who said "usually we're supposed to replace the TV based on features, or current resale value... but since they dont make your TV anymore we're just gonna give you a store credit for whatever you paid when you bought it"...

so yeh, they're giving me a $4000 credit. as im sure youre aware, this can basically buy any tv on the market. so my choices are to take the 55" Panasonic VT and have them give me $1000, or take the 65" and pay an extra $800 or so. I think this situation has gone so awesomely that im going to have to spend the extra money on a 65" and then smile and tell this story whenever anyone asks me about my amazing TV. this is so sweet.

That seriously never happens with those kind of situations. Definitely get the 65" and love your life. Grats.

Definitely do a quick google of standard distance-to-tv for tv-size cuz it's definitely possible to get a TV that's simply too big.. even when it seems super cool and baller but after a few weeks you'll realize it's giving you a headache. For example mine's a 50 and I'm pretty sure any bigger would be too much so make sure ur sofa's further back than mine.

I think this is a bad idea for a bunch of reasons.

First of all, it seems inappropriate to me for the WSOP to ban people for any reason other than misconduct in WSOP or other poker tournaments.

Second, it's really not clear what's going on or who's in the wrong with respect to these debts. All we're going on is what GBT's lawyers have said, and I don't see any reason to take what they say at face value.

Matusow claims not to owe FTP any money (I don't believe him, but who am I to say). Barry's argument about wanting to make sure the money goes to players seems sorta suspect but it's not totally insane.

We also have no idea what other unfulfilled obligations, in both directions, exist between FTP and people like Ivey. Tapie's lawyers say Ivey owes FTP 4 million. How much money is locked up in his FTP account and is that accounted for? Had he been promised payments that never materialized?

IMO this situation is too complicated and we know too little about what's really going on to get all righteously indignant about it.
