Re: new HSNL scammers crushing FTP

Is it possible for Full Tilt to prove that someone embedded a trojan on your computer? Have no idea how that stuff works

well assuming they didn't mask any ip's they can trace the trojan to it's home signal and correlate it with know ip's of the scammer.

Re: new HSNL scammers crushing FTP

but, downloading something this person linked and then getting crushed by them seems like damming enough evidence esp if the individual hands are analyzed.

The ones who got scammed would have to do that. FTP didn't have any contact with the trojan, most likely.

Yes, most definitely, but like someone else said, it would be up to the user to do this. I helped a HSNL player who was hacked, we deduced which trojan (PM me if you would like a link to the software as I dont want the scammers to know how etc if they do read this forum) they were using, and what IP they were coming from, I even went so far as to do a quick counter scan of their system and found out that if I wanted to I could have actually taken over the scammers PC, lol, but that is illegal, and if you want to pursue charges etc, the laws are somewhat unclear on how far a private entity can go in gathering evidence. There are also more passive ways of gathering evidence on a local system, but FTP can't really do much with just an IP as far as pressing charges, you would need law enforcement help.

yea, thats who sent me the link. it's the screen name "paymenot" on poker stars. that's his poker AIM. he has another AIM beginning with thomas. i can't exactly recall the rest.

i emailed both sites several times in the last few months to little avail.

Halozination was possibly also cheated by westisbestis and saman_r on poker stars; and on ipoker, possibly by capone111.

someone said using more than one firewall, ie kaspersky plus mcaffee (people are saying mcaffee is crap) is best.

I was told if you use more than one they are blocking each other and such?

not more than one firewall, more than one anti-virus solution

stars investigated more than once and told me they had absolutely no reason to believe the accounts had an unfair advantage on me. i emailed full tilt in january and told them what happened. since the first email i sent to them, i emailed them again in january, february and march about the situation and they told me for a number of reasons they couldn't provide additional information about the case but that they carefully investigate every report they receive.
