I think ranking the seasons is stupid, honestly the whole thing is like a 'body of word' and even though S2 seems a lot like it's 'on it's own' I think it is important to be woven into the whole drug thing.

I agree with this for seasons 1-4 but I think the last season was way worse in quality than the other 4 and deserves to be ranked lower than the other four. I still liked season 5 and it was still way better than 99 percent of the **** on TV, but I felt like the dialouge and the storyline were not quite up to par with the first 4 seasons.

edit: also, pretty sure AK is right about the McNulty/Theresa thing, at least that's what I always thought happened.

agreed AE, watching it the second time through has made me appreciate it more with how it relates to the whole series. though i'm on sick tilt bc i let ppl borrow the episodes and now no one can find the last disk of S2 so i cant move on to S3! DFDFGDFGERsdfsdfsf

Actually just finished watching the series tonight.

You guys pumped Omar up too much. My favorite "bad" characters were probably Slim Charles and Snoop. Good guys, mostly the people on the detail except Lester and Daniels. Landsman and Bunk were fun too.

omar cannot be pumped up too much. it's impossible.

slim charles is cool, snoop blows. lester is prob my favorite 'good guy,' maybe even moreso than mcnutty because i never really got mad at lester, whereas i was distinctly love/hate with mcnutty.

i think the line along the lines of "how would some people by the cooler in Washington D.C. know the name of some baltimore police cop?" makes it clear that McNulty realized she already knew something about Hamsterdam and was playing it up like she didn't know anything to see what she could get out of him. So McNulty realizes that she's contacting him for the first time in a while just to see what he knows, while basically lying to him, and doesn't like being used
