So we're playing some hu bbas (big blinging and ****, b-BASSin), battleshippin. Anyone who has ever played battle ship hu knows:

A) it is awesome.
B) the more vocal the enemy the more awesome the match.

If you're new to battleship hu and you're a kind of passive live chatter, let me recommend the line "NOT THIS TIME BUDDY". KILLER IN MANY SITUATIONS, ESPECIALLY LEVELLING.

Now i must recommend at all times a concept i refer to as the victory sip. THE VS (VSIP) is a live battleship move. Essentially, and i'm going to give you fish a little tip, when you're in a big pot, the natural inclination is to reach for that 40 while you're bluffing. Once you're aware of this, it's much better to be like 'oh, did you see that victory sip?'. Just show the man how little you care about the 500 bb river shove by drinkin a little black bull. It'll distract him at least.

So let me describe the 'THE MORE AWESOME POKER'.

27 bounty. 83 bounty. 94 bounty. T5 bounty. No more. This is the correct cap in my experience, too many and you are just flipping, this amount and there is crazy skill involved (i won almost 60 buyins today off some donk). Suited is obviously fine, plays HUGE since if you flop a backdoor flushdraw you are gonna lose 1000 bb with it.

SO WHAT IS THE BOUNTY?

Gman and i came up with the INGENIOUS idea a long time ago of getting to grim the other person when you bounty them.

What this means is the other person has to shove the next hand after you win with 27, 38, 94, or T5. If you're the button, you can shove or fold, they have to call either way.

Why is this awesome?!

No but really, one of the major reasons is it makes preflop strategy extremely stack sized based rather than one size fits all. You are just encountering a million different new situations related to hu.

You sure as **** are not folding K2o in the bb 1100 bb deep (happens very fast) when the other person gets to grim you if you fold and they shove 94o. At 100 bb seems close. I'm sure you high stakes minds are instantly considering the options.

I thoroughly recommend playing this variant as frequently as possible. I have literally never had as much fun playing hu in my entire poker career. And i was playing 50c 1 (admittedly, plays like 5/10 nl i'd say).

This will be great when the person who is getting to grim is dealt 72, grabs his nuts, says call, and wins again.

If I'm reading into it right, this game is not played correctly unless you are both in the same room facing each other for the verbal and visual experience. (duh, it's called Battleship)

...which means, while playing remotely, you should both hop on audio+webcam chat with each other the whole time.

+1, although 'awesome' doesn't seem to do this justice.
