The risk of ruin on this deal is insanely high, stakee should be happy with what he's getting.

Re: Fair Staking Deal?

Due to the travel expenses paid up front you guys should meet somewhere in the middle.

I think its extremely generous because expenses are paid. Maybe if he wants a slightly better deal give him some incentive bonus if he makes a certain amount.

Re: Fair Staking Deal?

shouldn't the travel expenses be added to makeup so he starts 3K in the hole?

Re: Fair Staking Deal?

I still think B tbh. You are both friends, the best case scenario ofc is always a compromise. Is the tourney/s big payouts at FT? If they are, then there's not really much point in getting bent out of shape over a 10% cut. The last thing you want anyway, is the player to travel down there and to be feeling he is getting very little of his potential MTT win, hes not going to be at his best if hes not happy.

You could at least, agree something like 70/30 if you make the top 4/5 (Depending ofc what those payouts are)

(My POV is a little biased because im from a 'Stakee' background)

Re: Fair Staking Deal?

I misunderstood. My answer is A but actually this still prob isn't best deal for staker at 80/20.

Re: Fair Staking Deal?

A, sounds very likely to me that even the deal proposed by the staker is -EV for himself.

Stakee risks nothing, gets a free vacation and a new chance to build a BR, and should therefore be very happy with this deal.
his time isn't worth anything I guess. time=money=power

will he be on vacation or working?

and I agree exactly with what Jonas said

"why isn't stakee in 45K makeup?

imo it should either be 50/50 with makeup and he starts out -45K in the hole or he should stfu and be grateful you wiped away the 45K deficit and are letting him start at 0 again."

Re: Fair Staking Deal?

fwiw 80/20 with no mu for mtts is just selling 80% at 1.25 which is reasonable. 70/30 is selling at over 1.42 mu which is pretty high, esp given the wsop 1k structures.

Re: Fair Staking Deal?

I lean towards A, but perhaps some adjustment should be made in case there's a huge score in B's favor.

Stakee is lucky to get staked with no makeup and can go elsewhere if he thinks he can find a better deal.
