Chances are he wont liquidate assets. I mean why would he want to! He probably likes his house and his cars. It's not enough that he was gifted a few million a year from being in the right place at the right time and has apparently continually squandered it but now he is probably going to go broke chasing losses to pay people back who won't see a dime. Or he runs good and everyone will get paid but people probably shouldn't hold there breath waiting for that to happen.

This is of course all based on what his perceived financial situation is. If he happens to have a few mil in gold stored away and just needs to get around to taking some bars to the pawn shop so he can write some 3k cheques then I apologize for my assumptions.

There is a 2p2er who was pretty stone broke and owed 40-50k out from sports bets he shouldn't have made. He has far from the same reputation to uphold as Lindgren and I believe has paid back everyone in full a few hundred at a time while I'm sure taking a big hit to his standard of living.

I don't want to say everyone in poker is a scumbag since there are still some people who will do the right thing even under tough circumstances but the list of good guys seems to be a lot shorter these days.
Amen. 2nd paragraph is why I decided to post about the situation after waiting 3 months to be paid.

I doubt Chino's win even put a dent in all of his debts.

I'm guessing he feels blindsided by this right now considering how in the past he's always paid in July. Its still possible that his plan was trying to delay payment out of inconvenience then trying to scam people. Now its Edog's chance to prove which it is. How he comes off in public long term hasn't been decided yet.

He can liquidate assets and pay back the $ and we can chalk it up to him trying not to have to inconvenience himself for as long as possible, and this will be all forgotten in a month, or he can welch and be considered a piece of **** human being and never get another sponsorship opportunity no matter what happens with US legislation etc.
I admit I'm basing this on info from a few years ago, regarding his fantasy skill. He used to be terrible and neglectful of his team.

So the better question is this:

If he has improved and become a decent fantasy player, why was anyone stupid enough to include him in their league, given his history of slowpaying and dodging people?

I had assumed it was for reasons that my friend told me, basically that he was so terrible that it was worth the hassle and risk he may not pay. However, if he's comparable in skill to everyone else at this point, LOL at still letting him play.

I was told this by various people close to the organization. This might have changed a bit over time, but it was somewhere in that ballpark.

Ask around and you will find out that Erick was a HUGE degen, and shot off money everywhere, including backing people in high-stakes tournaments that were consistently losing.

Anyone want to sell me their debt? I'll pay cash in NYC

Another depressing story about a degenerate live "poker pro". These guys have been washed up in poker for years and just living off their ftp money continuing to degen money away in the pit and it finally came crashing down.

GL to all the people owed, really hope you get paid soon.

I thought he was an internet player?

But as ****ty as this situation is, if you're going to be betting this much cash you better know who you are doing it with.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and bet that he owes Haralabos >100k for bets outside of these 2p2 fantasy pools. People need to be spamming him on twitter along with his agent and his wife. Their twitter names have already been posted in this thread.

Really sucks to read about this. I always thought he was a good guy. He saw me at naked fish one time and just bought me and my friends dinner for no reason. I didn't even really know him then. Hope he gets his stuff figured out and pays everyone back soon.

Does this situation really warrant dragging Negreanu's name into this thread? Erick is his friend but this is not Daniel's debt and it's pretty ****ty to sully his name along with Erick's just because he hasn't put up a VLOG or w/e ranting and lashing out against one of his close friends. I'm sure DN isn't exactly cool with the way Erick has handled this. Daniel's a gambler and probably knows what that ****ty feeling of being owed money and being ignored feels like. But that doesn't mean he's going to come out against a close friend and publicly admonish him as I'm sure the majority of you wouldn't either to a good friend or relative - no matter how much you happen to disagree or disapprove of their actions.

during late 09/early 10 there was an incident on matchbook.com that resulted in the majority of credit players being cut off for a few weeks, during the downtime rumors circulated around the sports betting world that someone had busted a 1mm credit account during a heavy weekend of college betting and then couldn't pay. rumor was that it was lindgren, which seemed pretty crazy at the time but a whole lot less insane right now.

feel terrible for everyone owed, it's so sad we've gotten to a point where we can't even trust our heroes (erick has always been one of my top 3-4 favorite poker players)

IIRC Glasser is a lawyer, so there is at least an outside chance that he might be prepared to work his way out of this (unless the amount is that eye-watering that this isn't a possibility).

You guys should hire Eric Cajelais to help you collect.
