It is basically a high stakes cash game disguised as an MTT. Rake is fixed, there will be players satelliting in as well as direct buying. I'm personally not playing this, as NLHE isn't my game, but I will be all over the PLO version if and when it comes to fruition.

I've spoken to a number of mid and HS NLHE players about this and I'm getting mixed reviews with a skew towards liking the concept. Do you think something like this will help spark higher stakes cash games? More importantly, do you think it will help spark more interest by recreational players in online poker again? IMO the glitz, glamor and glory of online poker has been fading for a few years now... I'm on board with anything that gets Joe Sixpack amped up about poker these days.

Personally I think it looks very good. I wish there was a WSOP event that worked like this.

Lol I actually proposed this almost exact format to FTP about a year ago (my version was played in a zoom/rush pool format) - they weren't keen. Will be interesting to see how it turns out.

I like it.
Also +1 there should be a PLO version.

The biggest problem I see is that very few players these days want to keep large enough balances on sites where the payouts come in a very slow fashion. I am not sure about ACR but if it is anything like merge the 2.5k cashout max that take a month or longer is going to make keeping more than a few 5k bullets online pretty unattractive.

Pretty sure withdraw balance is qay higher than 2.5k

why weren't they keen? I think the best way to introduce it is during an FTOPS..probably worth testing. I think a rush pool makes the most sense, but it might make MTT players feel as if it's too much like a cash game. Maybe something like "tables are redrawn every break" would be a nice compromise.

I'm not sure of the reasons - it was presented as part of a few different ideas I had at the time. You tend to get more of a yes/no response in general rather than any specifics.

There are a few things in your response that I feel need correcting:

1) WPN is offering bank wires to all participants who cash in The Cage.

2) WPN has a debit card that pays out 2.5k/week like clockwork. Check the WPN cashier thread in their 2+2 sponsored forum, ROW ewallet payments are 8k/week.

3) Merge does not take "a month or longer" to cash out players 2.5k. Merge's poker payout times have been under 3 weeks for almost all of 2014, around or under 2 weeks for the last half a year, and within the last month, the average has come down to the 10 day range. Merge Cashier thread at 2+2. ROW ewallet payments are 5k-10k/week depending on what your account max is.

Hey, thanks for correcting. I haven't had the same experience with merge but if that is the norm for the majority then good news. Now that they are randomly capping tables I suspect the WPN traffic will rise as will the bigger games if cashouts are reliable and consistent.

Kahn whats your affiliation with this network? I have to say you come accross a bit shilly to me.

Oh heres the latest on the 8k/each week cashouts.

I don't know anything about how the network's running right now as I haven't played there in some time, but this seems like a great way to get fish to play high stakes cash games. I like the idea a lot.
