Best 10-25 NL Player at Borgata? Best 10-25 NL Player at Borgata?

09-05-2007 , 11:08 PM
In my limited experience at borgata there is no action, and 99.9% of the players are extremely nitty including the regs.

I still would put Boris and Wayne in the top five. Who else would you put in the top five.
There are many excellent players @ the Borgata high stakes game. Boris isn't one of them (too loose). And Wayne, are you talking about Queens Wayne? Black fellow? I've got a lot of love for Wayne but he doesn't make the list either (untiltable but too str8 forward).

I've been playing the 5/10NL game at Borg for a few months now, a couple of sessions per week. You see many of the same players at the 5/10NL tables rotating in and out of the 10/20NL+ games, depending on various game selection factors.

There's some decent players there, but I haven't seen anything that makes me afraid to jump in that game. I don't like to see them at my table, not because they possess any great talent, but because they generally just play solid poker.

I can't say who the best is because almost all of my Borgata time is at 5/10 and I'm not there all that often, but I know Mike is vicious, and I'm down to him a pretty fair amount.

And lol @ Rocco.

I haven't seen this guy around much.

I've seen a guy very similar to him. He buys in for 200BB+, stacks off with TPGK+ when he's obviously beat, plays way too LAG in the face of live calling stations, is a tell factory, can't figure out why raising 3BB preflop gets 7-way action, and never says a word as he stares blankly at the table through his ftp glasses and hat. That guy, I see a lot.

maybe the rest is a fair caricature of the typical poor adjustments online players make to live, but the stacking off with top-pair is much more of a "bad live players" phenomenon

They don't stack off by calling. They stack off by being overly aggressive and not understanding the importance of pot control principles in these particular game conditions.

It's all just a lack of experience. The 2p2 approved "bet, 3bet, bet, shove" mentality that can crush 100BB online 6max games gets less and less correct sitting at a full ring table of "trappy/loose/passive" players 200-1000BB deep. They generally get lost when they put 100BB into the pot with TPTK on the turn, no one folds, and they suddenly realize that they've got 200BB left to play on the river. . .

err well then they aren't a good online player either, fwiw. I've only played about 100 hours of live play at 2/5-5/10, but you'd expect me to see more than one decent player in that time.

An updated/revised list? Since there have been some new players now and the game is mostly 10, 20 no limit... a few other players to consider in the top 10 are...

Lawyer Pat
Black Scott
White Scott
Hanks
Warlock
young Joe
Asian Jeff
Asian Tom
Egyptian Mike
Jenny

Please discuss...

u cant just name all the regs.... and say those are the best lol.
I'm probably one of the biggest winners in that game over the past 6 months or so (and not 1 player on that list would consider me a reg)

The two matts are good imo... (hanks/warlock)

and how come u didnt keep up the trend of labeling the asians.... w/ Jenny??

My first trip to AC was for this years WPO, I played 5/10 a decent bit and I am like 100% sure I had dinner/conversed with at least two posters ITT.

Is the action usually as good as it was then? There are no direct flights to AC from my city but I rly keep wanting to come back.

I always wondered about people lurking or posting in this thread looking for their own names
