Best 10-25 NL Player at Borgata? Best 10-25 NL Player at Borgata?

08-15-2006 , 11:21 PM
HERE IS THE REAL BORGATA NO LIMIT LIST

NOT IN ANY PARTICULAR ORDER

A) Jason ( he plays a really tight but aggr. style with a lot of tricks up his sleave. Jason adjusts to a table better than anyone and changes speeds extremely well.

B) Mike ( a great poker mind, hates missing value bets and hates folding. He plays position well and will never let you breathe easy during a hand. He looks extremely weak but oh boy looks can be a deception.

C) Troy ( plays a lot hands , extremely competetive and a player who loves going after weaker players.)

D) Boris ( he can put anyone on tilt with his mouth, he loves getting under other player's skin to make them go after him and then he kills them. Plays a lot of hands, you never know what he has but he is usually well aware of where you are.

E) Ron ( Ron is a maniac who has great reads. He is not afraid to put in any money if he thinks you are making a move. Furthermore, he is a guy who is not afraid to make a move at any point regardless of the situation)

F) Wayne ( Extremely solid, never goes on tilt , always knows where he is in the hand and is one of the most winning players at the Borgata. You know whatyou get with Wayne , he will always be a winner in the long run)

Who is Ron? Can you describe him? Is he the short guy, probably in his late 30's, early 40's.

Always chiling, which guy on the list is you?

There is also a guy who has his girlfriend sit behind him all the time. The girlfriend is hot. The guy is a muscular dude. What's your opinion on him?

There's also a tall skinny asian guy in his late 20's, early 30's. He doesn't play as frequently and play sometimes in the 5-10 game. What's your opinion on him?

We should meet up next time you're at Borgata. It sounds like your a regular there.

Boris is Funny .. easily tilted ... and prolly a winning player recently. I just love the way he looks at Jason and Mike with those puppy love eyes !!

I found this thread in the archives. I'm surprised no one mentioned the skinny asian guy. I saw him take down a $42,000 pot last weekend in a 25-50 game. He seems to be a consistent winner. I would put him in the top 5. Also, a guy by the name of Brett. He just started playing more regularly and he's another solid player no one mentioned. But I agree with the majority of the poster that I think Troy is the best player there.

elmo plays at the trop on the weekends and borgata during the weekdays....hes normally sits at the 1500nl tables not 25/50...and from what ive experienced with him he is a[censored] baby and whines like it is his job. why is it that most "grinders" who must play all the time and understand that bad beats always happen, tend to bitch the most..i can only go up to AC on the weekends and stopped playin at the trop for awhile cause i was sick of listening to elmo cry all day

I guess I don't mind roccos 'angle shooting' since it is so insignificant to me that I think "who cares". I mean so rocco adds greens into a capped 5/10 game, big [censored] deal. Like they will ever get into play.
Rocco comes across as a nice guy at first but is in fact an a-hole. I saw him get into a huge fight with a black dealer and wanted to go out into the parking lot and fight. The dealer just kindof laughed at him. The dealer messed something up but Rocco was totally out of line.
last time I was at the Borgata Rocco was sitting on my right in the 5/10nl game. He told the floor he was leaving so there was an open seat. They told a player waiting to move to our table there was a seat open, so he left his table and came over. Rocco said he wanted to play until his next blind(he was in late position, so it would be a good 5+ minutes before his blinds). The player who left his seat said something, he said something, etc... then Rocco jumped up and challenged him to a fight outside.

I have also seen rocco challenge someone to a fight for making a dumb joke.

Is it just me or do all the live players seem like huge fish? And why is this theardin HSNL?

im going to borg this month and plan on playing this game...gl me vs rocco

i'll keep this thread going cause i'm also going to the borg later this month, and i plan on playing this game.

Last time i played, i think I played someone with a goatee at 5/10 who I remember not being terrible (it was the highest game going at the time, but i was obv too much of a nit and pussy to play higher anyway). He seemed very bored with the lower stakes and was very bluff-happy; he was probably the most aggro player at the table. I called a river bet against him with 3rd pair and it was good against his air. He also complained a lot about the capped buyin at 5/10 because it took away his ability to "make plays." When they started up a 10/25 game he bolted for it. Was this Troy?

edit: also, most other people at 5/10 were nits and/or complete clowns. I hope it's the same way at 10/25.

You'll have to give more of a description than just saying he has a goatee.

Lenny has a goatee. He has dark hair, is medium height and is pretty heavily muscled. He usually seems to wear a baseball cap.

I don't know which one of the regulars is Troy.

The majority of regulars play a very tight and straight forward game. Most of them also have furious tempers, which is bizarre considering anyone who plays for a living should be pretty used to bad beats. It seems to be normal for them to freak out over small pots, or even because they have not been dealt a playable hand in a couple orbits. I'm talking about most of them, not all of them.

The guy you are talking about is probably Lenny. He is very good, and is not one of the emo tilters.

Another guy you really want to watch out for is Fish, because he is definitely pulling in 6 figures

(Fish is a gopher for the high stakes room and yes he rakes in the cash)

elmo wins? wow

Lenny AND Troy are not "crybabies"(maybe they were bored at $5-10 with no other games available),as they make enough $$$ in the $10-25,$25-50,$100-200,+++ to kill an army of players.............Pro's,....internet "12 tabling" junkies.........whatever....

Go get em',,,,,,,,,and GOOD LUCK over the LONG run.(LOL)

after staying there for the whole wpt i would agree. i played with everyone of those guys and thought all were brutal in their own way.

i did think lenny could play a bit though.
02-06-2007 , 01:31 AM
you've got to be kidding me. Lehigh Mike? Rocco? Wayne?
02-06-2007 , 01:34 AM
i almost died when i read troy....mike is the best, bar none, by far.

also, when he is in the game, stevesbets crushes 10/25
02-06-2007 , 01:37 AM
there is also a guy they call 'shallow'

he has been killing 5/10 NL (after switching from 100/200 limit), they say he has taken a few shots at 10/25 and has done well. maybe look for this 'shallow' in the near future
02-06-2007 , 01:38 AM
Boris? Give me a break.
02-06-2007 , 01:54 AM
Okay, here it is: Lehigh Mike is a jerk disguised as a quiet guy; his game has improved lately: you used to be able to bluff him off a hand too easily; he's still easy to read. Wayne is an extremely nice guy, solid but hardly someone to be feared; likes small cards too much. Boris is a tricky guy but way too loose and you can put him on tilt; I can't believe anyone would put Rocco on the list: he's very solid but equally predictable (never seen him angle-shoot but I guess I must have missed it seeing all the other posts; I kind of like the guy, despite the pinky rings); Troy gets my vote: very hard to read, analytical, selectively aggressive, imperturbable. Lenny is very good too but he can tilt. Very nice guy despite the forbidding appearance.

Did I miss somebody?

I played 5-10 with Rocco the other night. He was nice at times, but a huge A-hole other times. He would flop [censored] at times, very weird.

He's exactly the kind of guy who would look like a Rocco - wrinkled face, slicked back grayish hair. Probably in his early to late 60s. He's a solid player from what I've seen at 5/10, but I've also really only seen him play his own cards - that kind of style just can't make him one of the biggest winners.
Pretty sure ive played him 2/5 before. Same description, same name.... he is terrible and only plays his cards, and not well either(unless he was just [censored] around?). I didnt think he was all that good.
