Have there been any developments? Have i-poker still failed to compensate anyone?
They are providing a full breakdown of compensated funds as we speak. They were contacted on 2nd October and have statutory 20 days to provide under the freedom of information act.

The numbers afaik dont add up. This is relating to the bot ring and confiscated funds in relation to affected players compensation. I am in discussion with several players who should have got something just by way of volume during the periods in which these players/bots were active, will post with definite findings once the 20 days expire and can provide evidence.

For the PLO Bot case I doubt the UKGC will provide anything of substance - they can use commercial confidentiality as a valid reason not to release, mostly as it is really a question that the firms don't ave to answer under FOI and the regulator needs to keep open information with licencees so they will be very nervous about that issue. Depending upon the wording there may be some internal documents that would be interesting but again these could be redacted for reasons of commercial confidentiality.

I was thinking of the FOI route myself rather than just asking them but with some sort of report or feedback on poker due at the turn of the year I was waiting for that before trying it - the question matters a lot to the progress, it is best if you have something you are sure exists but has not been released and so can be specific enough about it.

The other trouble is that much of the documentation on the Bot case will have a blanket investigatory authority exemption - as they are investigating potential criminal action and potentially their decision on prosecution they can (and should) not release anything that might compromise the investigation or decision. Obviously that is more relevant to the bots than Darren Woods but it is another barrier to FOI.

Anyway I too would love an update as and when, maybe even a PM of the question(s) asked - that way I will not be duplicating later.

Those owed money by 888 Poker or i-poker despite £1m recovered by the courts may wish to submit to this (sorry if this threepeat in diff threads re diff issues looks like spam, it isn't really - its different advice for different issues):

Investigation launched by the UK Competition and Markets Authority working with the UKGC available here:

Case information
21 October 2016: The launch of this investigation follows concerns raised by the Gambling Commission about potential breaches of consumer law in the online gambling industry. The CMA has conducted an initial review of complaints information and a number of gambling firms’ promotions and terms and conditions. We are now launching an investigation to determine whether we should exercise our consumer protection powers to tackle unfair or misleading behaviour in the industry.

Press release: CMA launches investigation into online gambling (21.10.16)
We are especially concerned that players may be losing out as a result of:

Being locked into complex and strict requirements linked to gaming promotions that are difficult to understand and may be unachievable.
Companies having a wide discretion to cancel bets or alter odds after bets have been accepted, because they made a mistake when the odds were first set.
Terms restricting players’ ability to challenge a company’s decision.
See our press release above for a full list of our concerns.
There are numerous maainstream UK media articles on this but none improve on the press release here:

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/c...nline-gambling

AS for the seriousness/powers of this - The CMA have huge powers and can levy fines of up to 10% of global turnover - they never get near to that, the highest I recall is £45m for a drug company racket to do with generic (off patent) drugs.

We would like to hear from you if you have experience of these issues. Please contact us at Gambling@cma.gsi.gov.uk and state clearly in the subject line of your email whether the information relates to sign-up promotions, altered odds or cancelled bets, or terms that restrict the ability to claim.

I was on the lash yesterday and posted this drunken rant on the wrong thread. I will quote it in full, not because it is well written or even because today I feel the same level of rage frustration but more a lesson to me not to post pissed

FFS boys and girls!

Do you not get that if you think you were not compensated fully, this is your absolute last chance. Given one operator paid **** All when £1m was seized of the cheat, and likely Neteller got repaid their commission payments they were happy to pay for real trade and you aren't helping out here.

How the **** is that +ev for you and why the **** am I wasting my time raising this with the CMA and the UKGC (again and again) with no chance of me seeing a dime.

Finish the damn job. Please, somebody - HELP! Make the damn firms answer questions from the regulators.

If you want their money and a fine imposed to punish them for being shysters, please help.

first off, i appreciate your knowledge and passion. and while i understand your frustration, i don't share it, but rather find it amusing, that one of the biggest communities (with so many 'concerned' players) basically don't understand, what this is an opportunity
