It depends on the service. I generally do tip and often quite well as the establishments I frequent tend to have exceptional service. I include the quality of the meal and it's preparation in the equation. Take phillipes for instnace. Quality high, value good, fast friendly service and even though I'm spending under 10 bucks and basically serving myself I'm getting an enjoyable experience and I always give a little to the counter staff and bussers. I'm getting exactly what I came for and the employees are fullfillong their job description to a t. If people slipped up and realistic expectations were not met there would be no tip.

nooooooooooo what are you doing you simpleton. you dont tip counter staff! this is why we all have to look at those tip jars at every store, shop on the planet, why we cannot simply purchase anything with out looking at a jar that says "tips apprecitated" mother f ukkr I appreciate when people give me money for nothing too, ya know. I should get a t shirt that says tips appreciated and just walk up to dudes all day. the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, did you ever stop to think about that poker boy. but no its all, yippeee I play poker heres a tip, not thinking about the effect your actions have on the next guy who just wants to buy his crap and get back home.

im not looking for an exercise in morality or social justice, I just want my goddamn coffee so I can get back to regulating noobs at poker.

The haters are outnumbered about 100 to 1. What's wrong with them is they are thimble dickd ******s. IRL they get punched in the face and go home to second life where they can fly. Online they clog up otherwise good discussions.

didn't say it wasn't a good post... but how good it is is relative, for the caliber of player in HSNL, the post doesnt offer much since it's just about bumhunting 10/20nl live which is worlds easier than 10/20nl online. thats the reason I thought it would be better fit for a diff forum. playing 10/20nl live isn't really close to the same thing as HSNL online (which is the forum this was posted in)

Do you seriously think that durrrr is boring to watch? No way he plays abc-poker like the rest of the pros
10-25-2009 , 04:51 AM
No dammit Limon, I have a job, and bills. I dont go to Phillipes, and I dont run around LA filling up tip jars and then blogging about it, ok poker boy? I regulate dudes online, then I go to bed, thats it.

I agree, durrr DOES NOT play ABC poker, and he is very fun to watch. High stakes poker is always at its best when Durrr is there, along with Eli and Farha. Imo those are the most exciting guys to watch and they make the most interesting plays. The rest of them are just playing with scared money basically. Maybe save for Negreanu, and maybe Gold (although he is a massive fish and I'm surprised he doesn't get taken to school a lot more than he does). So bummed out that PStars is going to be sponsoring HSP now, get ready for a bunch of boring PStars sponsored Tournament donkey's not even playing with their own money. I'll shed a tear for HSP, by far my favorite poker show.

I think limons point is that poker is boring as a whole. Can there be moments of excitement and awe in ones ability to play a hand a certain way....sure. But even that is limited in its wow factor since the game of poker is just not an exciting one.

As for people playing poorly being exciting...well sure...now you have the real chance at making some consistent money....and that is NOT boring.

If the thrill of the gamble (gamble as in any hand where the money is all in and fate is left to the poker gods and its probabilities) is what excites you then I think you and limon are a different type of thrill seeker.

Sorry for speaking for you limon and am all ears if your thinking is different than this.
