12 years ago you could induce near hysteria in any L.A. floor by suggesting a plo game. Now at least they let some of them run.
you have the framework right but i think youre missing one thing. the action players dont like to wait and they will play baccarat as quick as theyll play poker in many instances. they also understand they can sit in any game and make it action by forcing everyone to straddle or they leave. having prop type players around to get the game down quickly or have it already limping along when the whales waltz in is important. "prop type" omc/shortsacker/system pros, dont really exist in PLO because there is no way for them to watch a weak ass training vid and survive. they just get destroyed and quit then there is no one to fill a game when a whale shows up.

great thread! if you had to say what bank roll would be required for the commerce 5/5/10 plo? I know this is a general question but lets say an above average player wanting a risk of ruin of 2% or so. Thanks!

You could calculate the exact or near exact bankroll requirements if you happen to have an accurate idea of your winrate (and standard deviation would help)

I'm just getting into PLO so don't really know those things yet but any help
Is appreciated!

Seems a little light. Is that 2 $5 blinds and $10 to come in, or are there three blinds of $5, $5 & $10?

Was just watching the LATB plo game from thanksgiving and towards the end Avi josh and Mel get it in pre flop 3 ways. Avi rabbit hunts after the hand and you start talking about NLH players would be crying about it saying STOP IT! STOP IT! FLOOR MAAAAAAN, FLOOR MAAAAAN!

Lol you had me lmao with the voice you were saying when you did that. It was pretty awesome.

limon,

In the past you've mentioned how deep poker runs in California culture. Can you say something in terms of how horse racing is tied into Cali culture? I am watching the 2014 TV series "Luck" starring Dustin Hoffman and was curious.

Shame they had to cancel due to the horse deaths. Was a promising first season.

3 horses die, so they cancel the show. 2k horses die a year in actual horse racing so that random degens can gamble, and no one gives a ****.

In the 90s there was a subculture of players in LA card rooms that we called "Horse Junkies." A couple of famous ones were Seattle Russ and America's Guest. It would be interesting to know if this group still exists, and what games they, er, play these days.

hey guys, we're going to close this thread and sticky it so that it'll stay on the front page here in hsnl and everyone can see all the good stuff in it.

for new LATB or limon stuff please go here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/37...-bike-1553062/

and that can be the new dedicated thread going forward

thanks!
