Practically speaking, most of the players are male, so having it this way is probably more efficient. I don't like the message this is sending, but it's not quite enough to get me to play any less or complain to authorities yet.

How do the rest of you feel about this issue?

Vanessa Selbst complained, and she tweeted it's already been fixed.

Honestly, I think they were just trying to solve a problem (really long lines for men on huge day 1s) and didn't consider what a bad image this would send on days where lines aren't an issue.

Tbh, redhatjane (Addy) was the first one who started tweeting about it, since she was there on day 1 playing the first 2pm daily and her bf was in the casino employee event; and this is what caused the twitter uproar. Some of the guy poker players were mocking her on twitter over the next few days when the first $1500 started and then that's when everyone else got involved.

I agree that the message it sent was way worse than the extra time needed to find a ladies room. I did understand them doing it for the main last year, but def not for the prelims. The hallways are practically empty at this time of the series, so I think the staff over-reacted in making them all men's rooms this early.

At least they listened though!!

really glad vanessa stepped in and said her piece when she did. her voice resonates pretty loud with the bigwigs. i'll take an ivy-league, civil rights lawyer on my team in this fight any day of the week. heh.

We could have a second boom in every country where the boom has subsided if poker caught on with women. The failure to recognize that, and do everything possible to lure new fis....errr, I mean new players into the game, is baffling.

Incidentally, I'm not saying women players are fish. I'm saying new players are fish.

You could also fake fainting at someone's final table while the cocktail waiters refuse to hydrate the spectators. That would be pretty cool.
