Do it. I did.

And I ran into a dude when I was walking out, and was all, "I know, I know." I like to think guys won't mind. It's not like they are open stalls.

I think that's a fair compromise. Make some of the women's bathrooms unisex.

Wouldn't unisex bathrooms make more sense, like everywhere? Why have 5 unused stalls in the Men's if there's a queue in the Women's, and vice-versa? However I appreciate concerns about safety and cleanliness, thus unisex may not be the perfect solution.

I was recently at a Chipotle that had 2 bathrooms, one for males and one for females. Each could have a single occupant at a time (well, more would fit I guess, but then you wouldn't be there to use the toilet) and they were identical to each other except for the label on the door.

Even with a line for the female bathroom and none for the male one, my female friends said they would never use the other bathroom. In people's houses they surely use bathrooms that both genders have used, so I don't understand it.

One other problem would be the urinal issue. If you are building a restroom for men only, you can have urinals, in order to make the line move more quickly. However, if it's going to be unisex you'd probably have to get rid of them or at least build them in a secluded sort of area so that women wouldn't have to walk by a row of men with their junk hanging out.

I once went to a gay bar that had unisex bathrooms. Both rooms consisted of a main door (with no lock on it) a stall, and a urinal. I went into the room alone and came out to find a guy using the urinal. Pretty awkward moment...

Yes for sure. Separate room for urinals, even have separate wash up areas if need be, but stalls should be shared so that women spend less time waiting.

Pretty sure I have used the men's room before. I certainly did in college when I was drinking in a guys room. Like I'm going to walk up/down a floor just to piss.

In general I understand why they don't have unisex public bathrooms (except handicapped bathrooms) - because Americans freak out at even the thought of seeing a bit of naked flesh - but if I really need to go and the women's room is too far away, I'm definitely going into the guys room.

After a couple of years in the Army, I just have no shame about stuff like this. At all.

I'm not talking about a whole bathroom overhaul. I'm saying instead of converting some women's bathrooms to men's bathrooms for WSOP convert them to unisex. Leave the men's as is. Leave some women's only for women. There will still be no urinal issue.

I was at a casino once...which one is currently eluding me...but a whole bridal party invaded the men's room cuz the women's room was closed for bout 5 mins.

All the guys thought it was hilarious and had no issue with it, and the girls were apologetic but had no issues either.

I guess that's just my way of saying I agree that unisex bathrooms is a very workable solution.

I'm not really concerned about the urinal issue either. I don't recall ever seeing anyone else's, so it's obviously easy to avoid so doing.

BTW, Jack Effel fought hard for the ladies and should be commended for getting the ladies restroom back in its original locations. Jack arranged two meetings between execs from the hotel/convention side, during which he asked them to listen to my arguments for why we needed the ladies room in the main hallway where it used to be. He definitely supported changing them back and the decision was made to do so within an hour of our meetings.

Agreed, I wouldn't object to this.

I wouldn't object to unisex bathrooms all over, TBH. As others have pointed out, you use the same bathroom as men do in private residences.

All you need is doors on the stalls and the urinals behind a wall or something and our prudish fear of seeing naked bits is assuaged as well.

unisex bathrooms would be a fine solution as far as I'm concerned. had unisex bathrooms in my college dorm and it was never an issue.

You're much more diplomatic than I would have been.

I would have argued that Cop Rock was a much worse idea than unisex bathrooms.

Just because you are disgusting doesn't mean I have to be. Rio is MY house. In YOUR house you can do whatever you want, you can wipe each other for all I care, but in MY house men and women will go to the bathroom separately.

Nobody has "a fear of the naked flesh", I have "a fear of the naked flesh going to the bathroom".

Out of sheer curiosity have you ever used a unisex bathroom? It's not much different than normal. My old workplace had one ala "Ally McBeal" and it was actually one of the cleanest restrooms I've used in my life. I understand you have a phobia but there will always be separate bathrooms for people like you. Having a unisex is a matter of convenience for those of us without hang ups.

Glad to see most of the ladies rooms stayed ladies rooms this year. There is one though that remains converted, the one in the hallway between the poker kitchen and Brasilia...that one is so easy to get to and convenient. Really wish it was still useable. We had a little conversation about it at my table during the $1500 6max on Monday, everyone at my table (all men) agreed it was not right for it to be converted.

I was in the army for 23 years, and in my experience, it doesn't work both ways. I was first in an infantry unit (all male), then an army band (about 40% female.) There was a sax player in the band who joked about her "big boobs", and no one objected.

A week later, sax player and I were talking about body fat measurments, I said that breasts are mostly fat, and a male E-7 came running across the room, all upset that I had said the word "breast" in front of her, even after I explained the context.

There is a huge double standard in the military, and all men need to realize that.

Last edited by Poker Clif; 06-13-2014 at 12:09 PM. Reason: spelling, insterted "male" in front of E-7

I've gone to men's bathrooms on plenty of occasions if women's bathrooms were full or whatever. Of course I made sure it was empty and had a friend watching the door. A bathroom is a bathroom and done right I think unisex bathrooms are a great idea.

I also don't think it was necessary to call RJ disgusting.
