Anyone playing the main event want to split a condo rental for a week or so? We would each have our own bedroom, be able to cook some meals and be a bit more comfortable than in a hotel. I've seen some things in the $600/wk range so thats about $40 apiece per night, not a bad rate.

Some of these are walking distance to the Rio, and I'm going to have my car there if we need to drive.

I have issues with the salt content in most restaurant meals, so I like to at least cook part of the time while I'm out there. And I do make some good tasting stuff.

Posted my WSOP package here

OK, it's just the main, but with options on another tourney once I get some money from the shares to buy in with.

If you know anyone looking to buy, please send them over.

Thanks,

Shauna

Update on the ladies events so far here in Las Vegas...I played the Caesar's one two days ago and the Venetian one last night. Went deep in both, but missed cashing in both by just a few...

Obviously the ladies events are smaller than the open events at wsop and Venetian, and so you expect a more specialized field, but my tables so far in both ladies events have been tougher than all my 1k and 1500 wsop tables so far, with the exception of the 1500 6max I went deep in a few weeks ago. Also, I've had to make tougher decisions and been put in more complicated spots over the past two days than my ENTIRE wsop so far. If you know me personally, you will know what a huge statement this is for me to make, as I don't give praise easily

This is truly indicative of more ladies playing the game and improving...and is obviously showing up in the results we have been seeing over the past few weeks. Well done everyone, keep it up...

I KNOW! I thought I just got a tough table draw at the VDS ladies event, but maybe it's the entire field. Bet sizes, particularly pre-flop were so much more competent at the ladies event in comparison to other events here, for starters. I couldn't believe there were at least 3 players at the table who understood pre-flop leveling wars, which made it more fun than ever!

I know some of you stayed at the Gold Coast last year and want to hear your feedback on that; it's on my short list to lodge next week.

Also anyone staying there this year?

Alright, one more shot at today's $1.5k for me. Amazon purple 419. Anyone else playing? I've decided that if/when (more likely when), it'll have to be in a heroic fashion this time. I have a renewed appreciation for stack preservation.

After this tourney, I'm probably going home for a few days for a break, and to eat more than 1 meal per day. Hopefully I can get rid of the nausea from too much adrenaline/cortisol here.

Hot dog! This could be the year a woman finally wins it! GO GO GO Katie, JamieAnn and Katie75013. I also understand that a lady named "Gazelle" (or Galle?) finished last night as the overall chip leader with over $550,000 in chips. Of course, the sickening thing was the famous cross dresser (Shaun Deeb) was in third place overall. (Wouldn't it be great to see a final table showdown HU between one of you ladies and Shaun - and you crush the cross dresser!? (If ESPN wants their ratings to go up, that should do it. Ha! Ha!)

OK Katie, if you manage to final table and actually ship this baby, Wilbur will be the proudest dog in the neighborhood. He'll be able to gallop around the neighborhood, wag his tail, and bark to all his furry four-legged friends, "She's my owner and she's the tops! Woof!! Woof!!" Wilbur can probably write a new poker book: "How to Play Poker For Dogs" by Wilbur (and WSOP Champ Katie.)

You go girl. Win this thing, baby!!

one of you ladies needs to ship this thing.

Is day 3 6-max? or is the restart list not final? I'm so confused.

there's two lists, one of End Of Day 2A&B and one of End Of Day 2C, i think we're supposed to combine them ourselves

or not: http://www.wsop.com/pdfs/reports/121...TABLE_SEAT.pdf (correct list)

Probably off-topic, but a quick scan didn't find a better thread for this, so..

WTF, ladies?? less than 5% of the fields, as was reported somewhere?? There really haven't been more women available to enter WSOP tourneys?

Or.... are ya'll just smarter than us dummies and saving your money for smaller tourneys and the cash games?

Post-saver? GL to all of the 2+2 women in the main event

@Larry I wouldn't be surprised if the Main Event field has never been 4% female. Still quite a few left from what I can see. I'd guess 2-3 will make the top 100.

Men still generally like to play poker more than women. And I expect it to be that way for quite awhile. A woman shipping the WSOP ME would help balance the inequity quite a bit though.

And yes, a lot of them are smarter by not playing because entry fees are the devil. Except the women that do bother to play, and they are smarter because they can usually profit from playing.

Looks like Katie has made it to Day 4 with 121,000 chips, so she's "technically" in the money ranking at around 574th in the field. I don't recognize any superstar players on her table draw, but she's up against two pretty substantial stacks - one player (Craig McCorkell) with 638,500 chips and another (Frank Marro) with 440,500. There are three others with over 200,000 in chips, so Katie needs to catch some cards - or run a few good bluffs!

Good luck Katie - we're all pulling for you. (Vanessa Selbst and the lady from France are also hanging in there with very good stacks.) This might be the year ...

Katie:

Considering all the "great" players you outlasted, (including a number of former World Champions amid such a large field), I would say you, SGTRJ, and JamieAnn did great. Wilbur and Collin should both be very proud of you! Also, I'm sure you have taken lessons and insights from this experience which will serve you well next year.

As for the remaining field, Vanessa Selbst and Gaelle Baumann are both still in the running with very healthy stacks. From some of the comments I've been reading about Vanessa over in the NVG thread, (mostly from male players who are scared to death of Vanessa), it looks like both Vanessa and Gaelle have a real chance of making it all the way to the final table. (Would it be an exxageration to characterize Vanessa Selbst as the female equivalent of Stu Ungar? She does seem to have that knack for striking fear into her opponents.)

Who knows, this just might be the year ... It will be one of the greatest sagas in sports if Vanessa or Gaelle wind up shipping this tournament. It will be right up there with Billie Jean King conquering Bobby Riggs at the Astrodome in 1973. If Vanessa or Gaelle win it, ESPN will probably replay the FT more times than they replay the One Drop. You gotta believe!

Phenomenal effort from so many ladies this Series, and yes, Vanessa Selbst is on another level to most players, male, female, past, present. I really hope she can go the distance. Not sure about the Billy Jeans v Bobby Riggs comment. He was 55 and she was the #1 player in the world. If Serena Williams could beat Roger Federer, today, or any day in the past 10 years, then THAT would have been something.

I'd also like to mention by friend Jackie Glazier who busted right at the end of Day 4 in 285th place. She's had an incredible couple months at the WSOP and here in Melbourne where she has made over $635,000 in tournament winnings in that time. We're all very proud of her here.

How awesome that Gaelle Baumann (France) and Elisabeth Hille (Norway) are both top 10 with just over 100 left!!! Vanessa Selbst and Marcia Topp are also top 20 or thereabouts. Susie Zhao is also still in but is getting short. Come on ladies, run good!
