Pretty great news - it's like 95% that I'll be playing the ME. I've already sold 33% (although there's still shares available for any who would like to invest in the dream, hinthint ), and have someone who offered to find one or more investors to cover at least up to 50% if I haven't sold that myself by the tournament.

So yeah, watch out WSOP ME, I'm going to be the first lady to make the FT since 1980something.

This also of course means that I'll be in Vegas for at least a couple days more than I originally planned - arriving on the 5th, leaving whenever I bust (or FT) the ME.

I'll probably say this in a couple of other forums as well, but I'm overwhelmed by the generosity of 2p2. I've had people offer to help find investors, comp a hotel, just completely awesome responses from people who I've never even met in real life. It's kind of humbling and awe-inspiring, IMO.

We very often focus on the negatives - the scams and the bad news - and it's easy to overlook that the poker world is in fact populated almost exclusively by decent, smart, generous people. The bad seeds are the minority, IMO.

congrats to those who sold their packages! It's exciting to see so many heading to WSOP.

I'm still on the fence about coming out; it's a bit late to put staking together and I'm not sure how much I want to invest in a foray. Last time I sold about 20% of my ME, and felt really bad about not cashing (I had KK cracked twice on day 1).

Hopefully I'll see most of you, if only to visit and play some side action.

Yep, try telling that to my parents. I'm tempted to drag my mom to the TWSS dinner, so I can prove to her that decent and nice people do in fact play poker.

Haha, my mom doesn't get my playing poker at all (and I don't for a living), plus she worries about my becoming obsessed/overinvolved (something my Dad used to do; I have a touch of it, but am cognizant of it and therefore able to control it), and yet when I explained what I was doing, she offered to buy 2% if needed.

They worry about us, but most Moms are happy as long as their kids are happy, no matter what they are doing.

Oh, my mom already went over the "I'm still worried about you and your future, but I love you and I'll support you anyway" talk. But she's still being a little annoying.

Ah. Then yeah, introducing her to the nice, normal, friendly people who actually play poker might help.

Well, I'm pretty sure FTing 2 SCOOPs (and shipping the Badugi low - yes, I am the king/queen of random poker games that no one plays) saved me from having to skip Vegas this year.

Looks like I won't be there until June 25. I got stuck watching my parents' dog in Arizona before that. They're still not valuing my poker as a business, so they make me do silly things like that during inconvenient times. I'm almost tempted to take the dog with me so I can come a week or so earlier

Playing the VDS event on the 26th, either cash or event 49 on the 27th, spa day on the 28th, WSOP Ladies on the 29th, and event 54 and/or 56. After that, TBD. Probably going to try some satellites to the ME.

So here's an interesting story (well, to me, anyway).

I went to bed with 49% of my package sold. Got woken up by the cat at 4:30 am (ldo), went to the bathroom while I was up, and checked 2p2 on my iPad since I'm apparently a 2p2 addict or something.

Discovered that in the less than 5 hour gap between bed and cat, Adam Schwartz sold the rest of my package (21%) and I'm now sold out.

I'm pretty sure I'd be giddy if I wasn't still mostly asleep (but obviously awake enough I had to check Skype to make sure I wasn't hallucinating).

I'm on here at 4-5 am because I'm jet lagged after being in Asia for the past few weeks. Or I guess I can consider myself an extremely early riser for the time being. Of course, it'll change when my late night poker starts again. Heading to the Borgata in a few days before going back to watch my parents' dog AZ, so by the time I get to the west coast, I'll probably be a night owl again.

I met and had a really nice chat with Linda Johnson last night.
She was playing in my friend's 75/150 O8 game, and I went over and introduced myself, and she pulled up a chair at her table for me to sit down to talk. We had a lovely 30 minute chat, and it was great to talk to such an inspiring and accomplished woman in poker. She was very complimentary of this forum, which made me extremely proud, not just because I am the one who started it, but just because of how much experience she has in the poker world.

I am going to start an 'Ask Linda' thread soon, in which she will answer questions about rules and women in poker and anything else that comes to mind...We will do it closer to the end of the series prob though, since she is super busy right now.

As for my WSOP plans, my next event will be the razz event on June 8 but I will be playing lots of O/8 between now and then. I am also thinking about playing the $600 O/8 tourney at the Venetian on June 5.

Linda, I'll be out for the 2p2 party and the Main Event, so if you see a short, chubby redheaded female wearing cargo shorts, come up and say hi. I'll do the same, of course, although I doubt I'll be railing many 75/150 games.
