Re: Women Tourney Successes (B&M or online, 2nd place is ok too!)

Event 4: $1,500 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low 8-or-Better

http://www.pokernews.com/live-report...w-8-or-better/

Xuan Liu (7th) and Marsha Waggoner (8th) have both made the unofficial final table, although Xuan did start the day 1/23 and almost missed making the final 9.

Just missed the criteria. A few years back, I took 4th in a circuit ladies event in NOLA. It doesn't count in this thread, but it counted for Christmas that year.

Congrats to Julie Schneider (stack 'em, stack 'em, to the top, woo!) who finished 11/228 in Event 22, the $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball. Julie finished 3/258 in the same event in 2009.

With 9 players left, Von Altizer is 2nd in chips. She previously cashed in this event in 2008.

Yeah isn't that the first female bracelet winner in 4 years? Congrats indeed... is she related to Jeff/Barry Shulman?

It's Barry's wife and Jeff's stepmom. And first female bracelet winner outside the ladies' event in 4 years.

Phenomenal effort from Allyn. Safe to say a female has never won a live tournament with so many players. Anyone want to do the research?

a) Previous biggest mixed field won by a female?
b) Previous biggest field won by a female?

Re: Women Tourney Successes (B&M or online, 2nd place is ok too!)

Just heard on one of the live streams, Allyn's win was the biggest ever WSOP-LV payday for a female ($603,713) besting Maria Ho's 2nd last year for $540,020. Cherish Andrews could beat that if she wins Event 31 ($664,130 for 1st).

Re: Women Tourney Successes (B&M or online, 2nd place is ok too!)

a) Clare Miller - 2006 Seniors' - 1184
If you don't consider Seniors' an "open event" then...
Vanessa Selbst - 2008 PLO - 758

Amanda Musumeci got 2nd in a 3404-entrant event last year ($1500 NLHE Reentry)...so close.

b) Sally Anne Boyer - 2007 Ladies' NLHE - 1286

Re: Women Tourney Successes (B&M or online, 2nd place is ok too!)

Just did some checking on Hendonmob, I think the biggest mixed open field event won by a female was Liv Boeree in the 2010 EPT San Remo (1/1240 for $1.7m).

And you got the other one, the biggest live field ever won by a female, Sally Anne Boyer in the 2007 WSOP Ladies (1/1286).
