I wouldn't say I resent it, but when I see something advertised this way I take it as a sign that the product is pretty second-rate. They don't have anything to say so they show a girl instead. Although the casino where I play has equal opportunities in this regards with both male and female bar staff apparently chosen for their looks.

Maybe I misunderstand the original post. I thought your perception is that the photo is intended to be of sexual interest for men and as a female player you find it annoying and off putting that tournaments are advertised that way. Another poster pointed out that the tournament is taking place in Hungary. Although he made it in an undiplomatic way, I don't think we can disagree with his contention that how women perceive and experience the interaction between female attractiveness and male sexuality is culturally specific - it experienced differently depending on whether the woman is from Boston, Riyadh or Budapest.
I am originally from England but now live in the East, so I can compare. For example beauty pageants are big events here on primetime TV, and they are mostly watched by women. Miss England never takes place without protests so I was amazed that my wife would actually look forward to watching Miss Slovakia, but she does. I'm not sure I can explain it, but I would compare it to, say: someone who values cars and driving wants to watch F1 where people are driving faster than he/she can, someone who values poker wants to watch people playing better and at higher stakes than he/she ever will and someone who values appearances and looks wants to see women who have taken that to a very high level too. I don't claim to be an expert on Hungary, I have only properly visited Budapest once, with my future wife. We stayed in a student hostel which was very quiet (it was summer) but had the showers marked as mixed. While my wife and I were there, a young Hungarian woman came in, dropped her towel, and took a shower in full sight of us - something that would never happen in the UK - despite all the "body confidence" campaigns. I am not saying one view is more correct than another, but it seems that the women here experience male sexuality as something they take power from rather than something that takes power away from them - so the advert is not as off-putting as it might seem to us, and probably best discussed on the Hungarian language forums if we can't find comparable examples from English-speaking countries.

I think if you tried to keep someone quiet by making a comment like that about any other combination of gender and sexual orientation people would rightly call you out for it.
Anyway I will stop posting in this thread except to answer any direct responses. TWSS is not my territory, I just check here occasionally to see if there is any progress in "Husband card player" or "Husband's downswings" - threads where I hope I have been able to provide constructive help to the OPs despite being a man. Sorry it didn't work out this time.
