Not looking for a Trump v Hillary argument. But what could President Donald Trump mean for online poker in the US? Would he be open to reforming online poker in a good, competitive way or will he be swayed by the conservatives in the congressional GOP?

As we've seen with Sheldon Adelson, being pro-casino does not necessarily mean pro-online gambling/poker. The danger now is that the Republicans will control all three branches of the U.S. government: Executive (presidency), Legislative (both the House and Senate) and Judiciary (through conservative Supreme Court judge appointees). This means that any GOP conservative agenda that gains traction is likely to become law, including banning online gambling. The Republican party did remove banning online gambling from their official platform this year, so it is possible that the "small government" conservatives have enough clout to prevent that from happening. But imo, the new government is somewhat more likely to pass federal anti-online gambling legislation, and far less likely to consider legislation to implement national licensing and regulation.

Unfortunately, I concur with you 100%. Fortunately for Jack Daniels, they will be getting a lot more dollars from me than would otherwise go to online poker now.

P.S. - I have noticed that Sheldon Adelson's PA Casino, The Sands, has been doing a lot of tv commercials to come to that casino of his. In all the many years, I cannot recall ever seeing tv commercials for one of his casinos. Anecdotally, could that mean he is desperate needing more business activity on east coast properties? I don't know. I hope that is the case. I know his Macau properties are hanging in there. What I do know for sure is I will continue to NEVER put a dollar into any of em wherever he has casinos. Same for Steven Wynn's casinos too.
