Re: **Rainbow Flops: The GLBTQ Discussion Thread**

So the other night I went and hung out with a gay guy I met on the interwebs. We just hung out and smoked weed. Yesterday we went and hung out with a friend of mine and smoked. This friend is someone I've been friends with for like 15 years, is basically like a brother to me, and he only recently found out I'm bi through another friend. I never talked to him about that kinda stuff.

Yesterday was kinda like coming out or something. It was actually pretty great. All was normal. Like, it's no big deal at all and completely silly to stress over.

Re: **Rainbow Flops: The GLBTQ Discussion Thread**

So here in otttawa its Gay Pride week, and the parade is tommorow. It has been a l ot of fun the glbtq++ community in ottawa is pretty great. There has been lots of fun events, and have been meeting so many new friends. Gay pride is great I suggest anyone to get involved with their local pride services, if they have any. Its unreal how many queer folk are in ottawa, and great to see everyone out and proud enjoying there life. Ottawa is a fairly accepting city and the people here are nice fortanutley.

Anyways, hope everyone is doing good, gl Livra with everything hope you find whatever you are looking for.

Pride <3

Sup twss? So Sunday was gay pride here in Ottawa and it was incredible. I walked with my bf and a bunch of freinds an it was the most powerful experience in my life. Growing up thinking and being told that gay is wrong and feeling insecure about it all for most of my life to walkin in the parade and seeing the beauty of the community was magical . Thousands of people queer and straight out there cheering and celebrating pride was so beautiful, words can't describe the beauty and sense of community of that day. Only being out for about a year to experiencing something like that was so life changing. I am just do ****ing happy to be who I am.

Oh and me and my bf made out intensely in front of retard catholic protestors and I yelled at them and stuff it was fun.

To anyone who hasn't experienced a pride celebration you really need to get out there and see the power and beauty of the community comming together . And if you live where you dObt have access to one then travel , it will be well worth it .

What, this thread??

Nah, this is totally standard for this thread. It goes between dry spells, where it seems dead, to active spells where there are multiple posts in a single day. It will be more active again before lone, have no fear.

Not sure if you're talking about this thread or my sex life...

Ahem, anyway... Who has been watching the Main Event coverage on the WSOP? Between the segment on JCarver's decision to come out, and a profile on Vanessa (and showing shots of her gf on the rail), it's been pretty good for teh gays, imo.

Re: **Rainbow Flops: The GLBTQ Discussion Thread**

Good to hear, bigoldnit. But I've totally been ignoring the coverage to this point though. I've had TV NLHE burnout for quite awhile now. Hell, I don't think I have a single post in an NL forum on 2+2, fwiw.

And toocute, glad you enjoyed your time at the pride parade. I would have wrote something earlier, but I didn't know what else to write. And I don't want to be totally LC/NC even though I am pretty close to it here.

My more verbose posts are typically in more mathy sections...lol

Re: **Rainbow Flops: The GLBTQ Discussion Thread**

http://williamsinstitute.law.ucla.ed...-July-2012.pdf

survey on GLBTQ homeless youth in the usa.

cliffs:

40% of homeless youth in the usa are GLBTQ

nearly half were outright kicked out of their homes

40% ran away from home due to how they were treated

30%+ said they were emotionally/physically abused at home

Overall, respondents indicated that nearly seven in ten (68%) of their LGBT homeless clients have experienced
family rejection and more than half of clients (54%) had experienced abuse in their family.

Well there's a new one for my dissertation.

Re: **Rainbow Flops: The GLBTQ Discussion Thread**

I was just thinking about that issue the other night; in my case I think that I would have been so much better off running away from home than sticking it out until college.

Then again I know some girls who did what I wanted to do as teenagers and they wound up hooking in the Tenderloin and being HIV +

There have to be better options.
