I guess if they are going to collaborate it would be easier on MSM, except that its another window to keep tabs on.

But if they are telling the truth and just talking about where they want to meet up after the game, then they can just go ahead and do that on MSM, too.

I don't know, I used to hate that on an irrational level. Which is why it's a peeve rather than just a minor annoyance. I was just like...AHHHH! STFU AND SPEAK ENGLISH!

i reeeeeeeeally hate it when old men patronize me at the table and use any/all of the following terms of "endearment": "little girl", "sweetie", "honey", "young lady"

i also hate when players are very openly breaking the house rules (ie: not speaking english, only showing hands to their neighbor, etc) and the dealer in the box does nothing to stop it from happening. come to think of it, dealer incompetence in general really irks me. not making correct change, not calculating the pot right, misdealing, pushing the pot to the losing hand, etc.

once i had a cash-game dealer at the Rio during WSOP who made no less than 10 mistakes during her 30-minute down. arghghghghg. it made me so nuts that i had to inform her supervisor afterward. i mean, everyone's entitled to a mistake every once in a while, but i hit my breaking point after the 10th screwed up pot.

I think my biggest pet peeve is when a floor person treats people with poor manners. This extends to regulars, newbies, staff, dealers, etc.

It is just so important for the floor to be welcoming and friendly--the poker room is already intimidating enough to people who haven't wandered in before.

At one of my regular poker rooms (a Harrah's property), there is one floor manager who always f's up the dealer rotation on the graveyard shift. This gets the dealers upset (especially the ones who have to stay all hours because they've gotten screwed by the mistake or whatever), and then those dealers start to get pissy with the game and the players. I have seen this kill more good games at that particular casino... It's just one surly dealer after the next, and we reg's know that its not really their faults. And it just keeps happening and happening. So then all the regulars get in a pissy mood, and the game takes on a sour tone, generally. Now if you're a first-timer or a drunkie who just hit your number on roulette, or went on a run at Pai Gow or whatever, the LAST place you're going to want to continue to gamble is at OUR table! Hell, I don't even want to be there, and that's my favorite place to be, as a rule.

That same floor-person whose incompetence breeds surliness is also surly himself (towards everyone). This type of attitude may have been something a cardroom could withstand during the boom years (not that it was EVER OK to treat people poorly!), but it is absolutely intolerable now that the player pool is not an endless sea of fish.

Bottom line: ill-mannered behavior from other players sucks; but poor manners from cardroom staff will kill ALL the action on a game and can create a generally intolerable atmosphere for new players. So that's my #1 pet peeve.
