I can move it to Tuesday night if that works better for everyone, but I was concerned with the holiday weekend we wouldn't be able to get everyone signed up in time. I can change the draft up until Monday night so if everyone agrees and signs up on time we can certainly do that. Obviously if you can make the draft it's more fun, but as I mentioned before it's not necessary as Yahoo will draft for you.
We talk about Yahoo because that's where the league is being managed. Here's basically how a draft works - everyone is assigned a draft order to determine who picks first, second, etc. Yahoo has each player pre-ranked by their projected points for the season, although you are allowed to go in and edit the list to put players you like higher on the list if you wish, or to remove players entirely from the list if you know you don't want them. If you don't set your own rankings, however, the default Yahoo rankings will be used instead.
Either way, when it's your turn, the computer will pick the highest ranked player still available that matches up with the positions you have left on your team. Each team will be made up of a QB, 2 RB's, 2 WRs, one WR/RB position, one TE, one K, and one D, plus 6 bench spots. Again, I'm happy to help anyone set one up if necessary. If you have a few minutes, go to Yahoo fantasy sports, click on Drafts, and try out a mock draft - it'll be really clear how they work once you've seen it
