Yes, quite amusing.

The various uses of the term "rack" has resulted in many a great story over the years.

Just recently at a Strip casino a female floor person asked a female dealer how her rack was. Both of the females in question are grandmothers. The dealer cracked up, did a take, looked down at her chest and said her rack was fine. The floor person didn't react but I suspect these two had performed this routine before. Anyway, the dealer then had to sign the clipboard to certify that her rack was fine.

Everyone at the table laughed at this, including a couple of young women there (this was at a low limit game). The dealer went on a bit about how strange it was for another woman to ask how her rack was. Then she pointed out that it would be really awkward--and actually sexual harassment--if a male floor person had asked her the same question.

I was just totally enjoying this and sitting silently, which as a guy, I thought was the proper reaction. I was very surprised that one of the other male players wouldn't let it go, and kept repeating the bit several times and assuring the dealer that her rack was fine. I dunno, that joke is best left to the women, as far as I'm concerned. I will point out that this guy had had quite a few beers and had not displayed any other obnoxious tendencies to this point.

Another time I was in a different room in Vegas and there was a very large woman dealing. She was large in every way, heavy-set and with a very large chest (she was also tall too!). At one point she missed someone's raise, it was quickly corrected before any harm was done and so she apologized to the players. "I'm sorry I missed that. I couldn't see over my large rack."

Everyone at the table--this time it was all guys--laughed. Then she added, "I mean my large rack of chips" and pointed to the chip rack in front of her.

Of course, she didn't mean that at all.

I must say I can't help but be amused whenever I hear over the loudspeaker that it's "Rack check" time or "Rack count" time. Sorry.
