Re: ***List of Ladies Tournaments Live & Online***
I won't be able to play the women's event on the Sunday, but I'll almost certainly be playing the Friday 11 am $450 NLHE event. If anyone is in AC next Friday, stop by the Borgota, look for a short chubby redhead, and say hi!

Re: ***List of Ladies Tournaments Live & Online***
As much as I love playing at the Borgata, the structure for the Fall Open ladies event is really crappy. I'm actually considering playing the other event that day instead. It's almost a guarantee I'll probably be the only female.

Borgata structures are some of the best in the country and um, NO you will not be the only female playing the open events. lol. gl.

Re: ***List of Ladies Tournaments Live & Online***
I meant the open event on the same day as the ladies event. The structures for the other prelims are so much better than the ladies event. It's almost unfair

Re: ***List of Ladies Tournaments Live & Online***
I didn't check out the structure of the women's event since I won't be there that day, but if it was substantially worse than an open I'd play the open as well.
I hate when they overcharge for a tournament with a ****ty structure. My only local casino (Hollywood in WV) has only two tournaments (Tuesday AM and Wednesday PM) and they are basically turbos, but they significantly overcharge, because they can, since it's the only (legal) game in town.
The prelim Borgata events look very similar, structure wise, to the Venetian series, which I love. A little pricier, but still decent value, IMO.

relative to other events it's not as good, but overall 25 min levels isn't awful. the semi turbo has 15 min levels for the first 15, although you do start w/ double the stack. doubt you will be the only female in the turbo, though.

the one that friday has the same starting stack as ladies except 30 min levels 1-10 then 40 min. obv that's better than ladies, but it's also half the buyin.
i do wonder why 25 min levels and not 30 like the seniors. doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Re: ***List of Ladies Tournaments Live & Online***
Yeah, the thing about the 25 min levels seems random. Now I'm thinking I'll probably just play the ladies event because it should be more fun chilling with those of my type.
Probably also playing the 200K guaranteed on the 9th. For the buy-in, the structure of that one is amazing, and it looks like they'll have plenty of runners.

I would recommend registering the night before if possible.
Borgata series' like that always get a ton of players and reg lines are notorious for lasting 2+ hours the day of the event. gl

To any ladies playing the VDS ladies on the 10th, we're planning a lunch before the tourney (iirc it starts at 2, so this won't entail getting up too early ). PM me for details.

I'm definitely down, but the VDSE ladies tourney starts at 3p, not 2p.

Iirc summer's had over 200, but I expect this one to be dramatically smaller. Contrary to what I said before, I am pretty sure I am going to opt out due to the rake.

If you think the rake is high as well, make sure to give them that feedback. #FightingTheGoodFight
Also, the way they list rake is slightly confusing-- it is really a $200 + $40 + 3% (they do give you a $10 food comp if you go to the comp desk and ask, but I almost always forget.) The "optional" bonus is just a way to disguise more rake imo, as I talk about here.
That being said, I think that the DSE is a well-run tournament series in general, I just think the rake on sub 1k events is too high.
