relative to other events it's not as good, but overall 25 min levels isn't awful. the semi turbo has 15 min levels for the first 15, although you do start w/ double the stack. doubt you will be the only female in the turbo, though.

the one that friday has the same starting stack as ladies except 30 min levels 1-10 then 40 min. obv that's better than ladies, but it's also half the buyin.

i do wonder why 25 min levels and not 30 like the seniors. doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Yeah, the thing about the 25 min levels seems random. Now I'm thinking I'll probably just play the ladies event because it should be more fun chilling with those of my type.

Probably also playing the 200K guaranteed on the 9th. For the buy-in, the structure of that one is amazing, and it looks like they'll have plenty of runners.

I would recommend registering the night before if possible.
Borgata series' like that always get a ton of players and reg lines are notorious for lasting 2+ hours the day of the event. gl

To any ladies playing the VDS ladies on the 10th, we're planning a lunch before the tourney (iirc it starts at 2, so this won't entail getting up too early ). PM me for details.

I'm definitely down, but the VDSE ladies tourney starts at 3p, not 2p.

Iirc summer's had over 200, but I expect this one to be dramatically smaller. Contrary to what I said before, I am pretty sure I am going to opt out due to the rake.

If you think the rake is high as well, make sure to give them that feedback. #FightingTheGoodFight

Also, the way they list rake is slightly confusing-- it is really a $200 + $40 + 3% (they do give you a $10 food comp if you go to the comp desk and ask, but I almost always forget.) The "optional" bonus is just a way to disguise more rake imo, as I talk about here.

That being said, I think that the DSE is a well-run tournament series in general, I just think the rake on sub 1k events is too high.

I just wanted to say we've relaunched the Women's Poker League for 2012. It has a new $5.50 buy-in level, and league tournaments are now three times each day.

You can find the tourney times listed here:

Good luck if you're playing. :-)

Still torn between GN's $240 PLO/PLHE mix at noon, GN's $165 Ladies Satellite (for WSOP Ladies + GN Ladies), and Venetian's $600 PLO with re-entry tourney, all on the same day on June 28...

Oh, and we should plan another TWSS get-together before the WSOP ladies event

Will do, thanks for posting the tournament info!

Also, a bit later there's a $550 US Ladies Poker Championship on Sept 1st-- which I believe is going to be at the Golden Nugget.

+ The ladies tournament in Monaco April 30th with a €1,000 + €100 buyin. Really want to play this one!

Ladies after much encouragement Merge has finally improved their ladies games. They are now running the following weekly schedule:

All times are server time which is CST no DST.

Tuesdays 19:15 $2.20 freeze out $200 gtd
Wednesday 18:00 $2.20 DS freeze out $200 gtd
Thursday 19:15 $2.20 with 5r 1a $250 gtd
Saturday 14:00 $2.20 rebuy $300 gtd
Sunday 15:00 $11 freeze out $500 gtd
Sunday 17:00 $11 freeze out DS $500 gtd

If $11 is too steep for your bankroll there are a ton of good sats for $11 seats on Merge. I'll double check this weekend and make sure the sats work for these.

Hope lots of you ladies will play these, I've really missed the Women's League on Stars and I've been working on Merge awhile to fix their women's games.

Caesar's finally posted their Mega Stack tournament schedule, so to add to my previous list above for this summer's Ladies Events:

Caesar's Ladies NLH Tourney - Monday, June 25, 12pm - $200 + $40 buy-in with re-entry
1 Day Event
Starting Chip Stack: 20k
Blind Levels: Not sure? (last year it was 30 min/40 min final table)
Link: Caesar's Noon Tournament Schedule

Unfortunately the same day as Binion's Ladies event.... =/

If it wasn't for Caesar's ridiculous rake, I would've guaranteed that Binion's would be completely shafted... they probably still will be anyways.

your point about the rake is spot on. plus re-entries are such a scam to get you to pay more rake.

I am stating unequivocably that I will play Binions. **** Caesars.

Is rake alone enough of a reason to choose Binion's over Caesar's?

Last year's fields- Binion's = 72, Caesar's = 149.
