(oh, and since it seems to be part of the discussion, i'm a huge supporter of the GLBTQ community. much love all around. i've been known to swing the bat both ways and my kid sister is a proud little queer. imo there's way too much homophobia in the poker community and i'll stir up sh*t til i'm blue in the face to try and stamp it out.)

Hey there! Love that you're a supporter of the LGBTQ community. I am a queer girl and never know whether to be open about it in the poker community. (I guess I just decided to.) Anyway, your support is much appreciated!

Be proud! I think poker playing women are less conservative than the average woman and also believe there is an unspoken sisterhood among us which transcends to political and social issues.

Oh, btw, I'll be the chick wearing the FCKH8 shirt at the WSOP ladies event....day 1. If I'm fortunate enough to make it to day 2, I might wear something else.

Hey everyone!

Sooo I've never actually posted on 2+2 before (as if it's not evident from my Posts: 1, lol), been a lurker for a while but decided I wanted to get to know more female poker players and start chatting with you guys more Didn't want to start a new thread of my own so thought this would be the perfect place to start.

I'm Steph, originally from NJ, turning 22 tomorrow (as in two hours from now, yay!), went to college at Case Western in Cleveland (majored in biomedical engineering) where I started playing some home game NLHE, then started grinding at Turning Stone until I turned 21, when I started grinding at Rivers in Pittsburgh. Definitely not a pro or even semi-pro (work in a biomedical imaging research laboratory)- just grind $1/3 NLHE, $2/$5 NLHE most weekends at Rivers and like to play in the very occasional MTT here and there. Out in Vegas for this week until July 4 playing at all the ladies MTTs (Binions, Venetian, GN, WSOP, Caesars, maybe some sats), and grinding at Rio/Venetian rest of the time.

Want to eventually get better at mixed games (esp PLO), but for now, just sticking with NLHE Also want to eventually move up in stakes, but for now, sticking with $2/$5. Also was planning on getting more into online grinding post-graduation (which was this May), but so much for that... =/

I hope to meet you guys at some point this week, too! I saw the thread about meeting up at Cosmos, but seeing as I'm just a lurker didn't really know if it'd be appropriate for me to go?

(oh and if anyone has any better name than "pokerella", feel free to let me know, lol it was just a random spur-of-the-moment name that kind of stuck and I want to change...)

I played there during my cross country drive. Not sure if it's a soft room, or if I just had a soft table, but it was a very pleasant room.

I don't pretend to speak for hotjenny & them, but I'm pretty positive they would encourage you to come so that they may get to know you better.

Hi - I am a friend of hotjenny314 - currently planning on giving her loads of grief for not directing me here before now lol.

I am Debi - live in Georgia. I am the forum admin at Cardschat and have peeked in here at 2+2 from time to time.

I come to Vegas several times a year to play. I play tournaments - throw in some cash games from time to time. I have a lot of friends in the poker world - but not many of them are women. i look forward to hanging out with all of you in this thread and hope to meet some of you in Vegas.

I am in Vegas now and will be here until July 10th.

Wow! I'm so happy to beable to let the 2+2 community know I have a vagina without being virtually molested by trolls. I'm also really excited to see how many active females there are in the poker community!!

My name is Bailey, AKA TennePenne on Pokerstars and Fulltilt (ugh), and I'm a 21 year old online professional! I play ~15 tables of 100 NLHE. I actually just moved from the states to Toronto bc of Black Friday, and this is my first week playing poker here (going well for now!).

I studied Fine Arts (focus on sculpture) in college and I really think my success in poker comes from my creativity and problem solving skills that I have developed during my time studying and making art.

I LOVE meeting new people in the poker community, and would love to get to know you all better!! I'm addicted to blogging and twitter, both you can find by a quick browser search of "Tennepenne".

I have to say, it's nice to see that there are plenty of women out there playing poker and on 2+2.

God, how I miss being able to play poker online every day. Damn you, DOJ!

I am basically only playing live now when I can get to Vegas. Since BF I can not find a decent place to play online - I like large field deep stacked tournaments.

I would move it I could!

I joined the Full House poker league today - gonna start playing tomorrow. They have games at quite a few places near me. They give away some cool prizes a few times a year - have a cash tournament and give away seats to big events.

Lol - it is hilarious. The players are sooooo bad. You start with 1000 chips - but get extra chips for buying food and drinks. A beer gets you 200 - a pitcher gets you 1000. I can't drink that much and drive lol. I am not sure how many I got for my food - but I think it was over 1000. They are very loose and casual about it. Oh - and you continue to get those bonus chips even after the game has started. So if you get short you can just order a pitcher of beer lololol.

But each session lasts 15 weeks and at the end of each won there is a cash tournament for the top 25. !st gets $750, 2nd gets $500 and 3rd gets $250.

The top 100 compete for a seat to the WSOP Main Event plus $1000. You can take $6500 cash instead if you choose. So they give away 3 seats a year. I think it is worth trying.

I'd imagine buying a pitcher (or 7) and sharing it with the table to be insanely +EV
