So im taking a friend of mine to the Casino and she's never been. What is a good game to keep her entertained, im thinking of course slots for a little but I myself can't stand them for more than 15 minutes, also roulette since that can be dragged on for a while. Any other simple type games thats not too hard to learn any girl would enjoy? thanks

Personally, i dont really like playing poker when a friend is waiting around or needing entertainment other than poker because i feel inclined to make the trip interesting for them and also often rush playing poker and make moves in bad spots because i feel like i need to make moves fast so that i can get done playing and entertain.

I think low stakes roulette and BJ would be fun for anyone who has a bit of gamble in them but honestly i think you should either focus on poker or hanging out and having fun with your friend.

Long story short, if shes not a poker player who is happy to grind on another table for a few hours, then its going to be hard for you to both get what would be most fun out of the trip.

My fav casino game after poker is Pai Gow. Yes it takes a little getting used to but usually the dealer or at some casinos other players can help set her cards for her until she's comfortable. Since you are pushing most of the time, she won't lose so fast. You can nurse a stack for a looooooong time thus not making you rush while you're playing poker. I'm sure she can handle something a little more complex so I suggest you ask her to try it.

Oh no no, im not playing poker while she's by herself, don't think i'd get any that way lol. Yeah maybe if I find an empty pai gow table or something ill try it out. Thats what I kinda want low stakes but potentially long lasting betting.

Pai Gow/blackjack wouldn't be bad choices, but if we are looking at games that focus on lower variance, I would choose pass line on craps before pai gow. Being the "shooter" is always a fun experience, and you know what they say about virgin female shooters...lol And with craps, she would have the the option of picking some longer shot bets for ~cheap similar to roulette.

Traditionally the lowest edge casino games have the lowest variance. Pai Gow has a very low variance since you push ~half the time. Not surprisingly, the smart ladies of this forum are suggesting these low-edge games. But for a casino newb (Note: I'm assuming she's a newb. If she isn't, then try to figure out what she would rather play.), I dunno if this is the best decision. Although it's more risky in terms of the end result, I would think she would have more "fun" at a game that gave her a chance at a bigger payoff than just even money.

If it is available in your area, 21+3 wouldn't be a bad choice either. It's ridiculously popular in my home area of St. Louis. It's blackjack with a side bet that pays 9 to 1 if your 2 cards + dealer's up card makes a flush or better based on 3 card poker rules (straight > flush in 3 card). The edge on the side bet is significantly worse than regular blackjack, 3.24%, but that's still better than roulette, and gives a better chance for a significant win than regular blackjack. And obviously, you have to play BJ on top of this sidebet, so the combined house edge is closer to 2% for equal wagers assuming perfect play.

Play low limit blackjack on a table with some decent rules. and learn some of the basic strategy on the trip up there, should be able to have some fun for awhile.
