Ok, so I saw "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" for Jewish Christmas. It was okay, but I think if I had read the book first I probably would have liked it more.

*****Spoiler Warning*****

There was a family sitting behind us that included some 8-9 year-old kids. I cringed during the scenes in Bjurman's apartment knowing that they were watching this. Some of the other sex scene stuff seemed a bit gratuitous / out-of-left field, but my friends who read the books said it makes sense for back-story stuff.

All the Wennerstrom stuff at the beginning and end of the movie seemed a bit out there as well, but again, the folks who read the books said there's a lot more detail about it.

I also got confused by who was who in the Vanger family, so the whole Gottfried thing was a ????????? moment for me.

If they're going to try to do English-Swedish accents, they might want to try to be a bit more consistent about it. (Just a pet peeve of mine.)

Goran Visnjic needs to be in more TV shows / movies. #EuroClooney

*****End Spoilers*****

Thx for the rec :-)

I watched the dubbed Swedish version and really enjoyed it; though I def considered it an action/horror movie, and was freaked out for a bit afterwards. We also didn't have any kids around lol.
