crashing currencies around the globe crashing currencies around the globe

It's unlikely I'll ever grind hours and hours of poker again but I still want to know your take on this.

The world is currently in financial trouble with many countries being in serious debt, and their currencies collapsing as a result.
I recently moved to Argentina and their pesos completely crashed in 2001.
The Argentine peso lost 50% of its value, and Argentines can't travel now because their currency doesn't buy much in different countries.

Now..

Many top economists on this planet say that the US dollar is facing the same scenario, and so is the euro.

Why do pokerplayers invest all their energy in finding edges, if the profit of all the hard work is paid out in a worthless currency?

Rather than studying tendencies of opponents, I'd get into economy and protect my savings account if I were you
