Hey gals,
I am going to start to plan my WSOP. I am thinking of hanging in Vegas for a month. Does anyone have any peeps that have an extra room to rent out? Is anyone looking for a roomie? Maybe a space in a group house rental? I have never stayed this long and always stayed at hotels so wanted to reach out and see what you all are doing. Any ideas? Peace

I have an opportunity to rent a condo for a month at the Jockey club, but would really like to split it with someone to cut down the expense. It is a really nice place. If you are interested, PM me and we can get to know each other a bit and see if we would click. Peace, Deb

I am probably going for about 2 weeks and will just split my stay between the Aria, Venetian and the Rio.

Can't wait!

It looks like the Gold Coast has upped their prices this year during the WSOP period.

So, I'll again float the idea of getting some kind of condo/vacation rental and sharing it. I'm thinking of going for most of June.

Hey, I don't suppose anyone would be interested in sharing a room (likely at the Rio) specifically on the nights of the WSOP ladies event (6/28 and 6/29)? Friend I was planning on sharing a room with is leaving 6/28 and I definitely want to at least stay for the WSOP Ladies... Or if that's unreasonable, anyone interested in sharing a room for that whole week (6/23-6/29)?

I'm probably only going to come out for the Ladies' event (and some cash games), so splitting a room on the 28th and 29th would be perfect for me. PM if you'd like to discuss details.

I'll be in town from mid/late June through the main (with the exception of a few days off in Napa). Looking forward to seeing you all!

As of now I will be staying at the Aria 8 nights and the Vdara for 4 nights, June 24- July 5. Got a great deal - less than what it would have cost me to stay at the Rio.

I will be coming in from Mexico probably around the same time hotjenny is...I will also have Rylee with me (my dog)...would be cool if we could set up some sort of doggy swap/day care for those of us with pets who don't want to do doggy day care. Anyone else coming to Vegas with pets? My cat will stay here in Mexico.

I found an ad on craigslist for a montly rental deal at Clarion. I guess I will be staying there for June. If I want to stay longer than that, I guess I can book individual nights at Rio. But they started charging resort fees which is annoying. Is there anything above motel quality in Las Vegas that doesn't charge resort fees anymore?

It's an unfortunate trend in Vegas, with every hotel trying to look cheaper and then adding on the fee. The highest I've seen is $25 a night (Cosmo iirc), but it feels like more of a slap in the face at the Rio ($18 per night iirc). And I'm not a fan of them trying to list all of the amenities (like a free newspaper) as though it is anything besides just making your room cost more.

At least the fact remains that hotel rooms in Vegas are still a great deal compared to almost anywhere!

hi

not quite sure what to do either.. i am supposed to stay at the rio but they don't allow dogs apparently. would be really awesome if i could leave him somewhere with other cool dogs like Rylee during the day and be able to check on @ breaks too. and of course on off days would be able to come over and take care of the dogs for others..

does anyone else have pets and would be interested in joining us in setting something up or have ideas? i hate the idea of leaving Tyrone in a kennel for over a month

also how big is Rylee? will she/he be flying in the cabin with you? if not, what airline do you recommend for cargo holding for bigger dogs? i've read some horror stories online of airline people mishandling dogs and them dieing because of it ughh

Rylee is a Scottie

Spoiler:

We live in Rosarito, Mexico which is only a 5 hour drive to Vegas so no airplanes for us. Admittedly though, one reason I will stick with small dogs for the rest of my life is my fear of needing a big dog to fly in the cargo container of airplanes. I too have heard stories that are no beuno. I seem to remember there being a website out there dedicated to tracking the performance of airlines transporting animals in the cargo container...

Hotjenny (who you played with this summer and thought was me ) has a large Lab and will be bringing him with her to Vegas...I'm sure she would be interested in something as well for the days she and her husband are both playing.

Actually, Collin's Dad is watching Wilbur and the kitties in Mexico for us. But I know that the Rio has a pet suite, and Staybridge suites (on Dean Martin iirc) also has pet rooms.

When we moved to Vegas, Wilbur was in the cargo hold-- but that was in winter; I'd highly suggest not doing that during summer in Vegas.

Been an absolute mess the past few weeks trying to juggle between multiple trips, work, indecisive friends, etc, but finally got everything (but airplane) booked- staying at the Rio with an old friend from June 16-June 30 (for a pretty nicely comped/rated deal after many phone calls). Will be mainly playing tourneys while I'm out there with some Rio cash games in between, but PM me if anyone wants to meet up .

I have such lenient requirements for rooms, and the cheap condos still don't meet my requirements

No bugs
A/C works and is adjustable
No bugs
Sheets/beds aren't gross
No bugs
Floor isn't visibly stained in a disturbing way
No bugs

Ima local and know for sure that the Rio allows dogs.... Its kind of funny going through the casino and seeing dogs walking through with their people.... Ive seen big and small dogs there, so ya may want to check with the Rio direct....

On another note... I have a house in summerlin (bout 15 miles from the strip) and was thinking about renting my detached casita out during the WSOP.. its adorable, quiet and in a great neighborhood. It is a studio with walkin closet, full bath, fridge, locked gate entry, cute court yard and near the 215... just sayin

Hi Ladies,

I have a room booked June 26-July 4th, and I'm hoping to share it and split the cost with another lady on a budget. Quiet, clean, non-casino hotel on Paradise/Sands. Fairly close to Rio, Venetian, Wynn by cab, but I will also have my own car and willing to share rides for a little gas money.

The room is already deeply discounted, but I'm only partially employed right now so I need my expenses as low as possible (leaving more $$ for poker, obviously). Fortunately, my partial-employer is a major hotel chain, so the room is $40 per night, including taxes (NO resort fees!). That's $20 each. You won't find a better deal anywhere.

The hotel has a free shuttle service to/from the airport, free wi-fi, pool, free gym, free breakfast (if you wake up early enough, which I usually don't). Room is standard, 2 double beds, no kitchen but may have small fridge/micro. I usually take a trip to grocery store for fruits/ veggies/ water and snacks.

A little about me: I play mostly NL cash, may also play some Venetian events or satellites to some bigger events, depending on how my bankroll is doing and the mood I'm in. None of my girlfriends play poker, and they don't quite understand why I want to go to Vegas and not drink/party/ hang by the pool all day, etc. Thought it might be nice to share expenses and perhaps a meal or two with someone who is also in town primarily for poker.

These dates coincide with some ladies events, so if you've been on the fence about coming out, here's your chance!! I may be able to extend a few days before or after, but would have to see if rate is still available.

PM me if interested, even if you're just coming out for a few days.

Got an offer I couldn't refuse so now staying 4 nights at the Aria June 24-27th (2 of those are free). Then on June 28 moving to the Grandview resort for 7 nights which are free except $50 for a week of wifi. Then back to the Aria for my last night which is free (actually on the 4th have a room at both places lol).

My only concern is how crazy the 28th will be - which is my birthday. I will wake up at the Aria then have to check out and move to the Grandview and then get to the Rio no later than 11:45 for the Ladies event. My room is not likely to be ready but will need to leave all my stuff there anyway.

They have a shuttle but it only goes to the Aria and Treasure Island. I would have to take the 10:00am shuttle then catch a cab the rest of the way to the Rio - or take a cab the entire way which will probably be expensive.

If anyone lives or is staying in that area and could give me a ride that would be a great birthday present! The Grandview is about 5-7 miles south of the Aria on the Las Vegas Blvd.

I just booked a short trip; got a new job that starts July 1 so I'm forgoing the WSOP Ladies event this year :-/ I'll play the Venetian Ladies event and some other daily tourneys and cash...while enjoying a few days in Vegas before a new job!

Anyway, I'm staying at Harrahs from Tuesday 6/25 to Saturday 6/29. Room was mostly comped. If anyone's interested in crashing, send me a PM. I'll barely be there, as and long as we know someone in common, which we probably do, I'd be down to share.

glgl ladies!

I'll be staying at the Rio from the 27th to the 4th (possibly longer if I have lots of rungood). I'm driving out from Colorado, so I'll have a vehicle without dealing with a rental. I just wish the Hilton still had the star trek experience, that thing was so awesome. Ah well.

Playing the wsop ladies event, some smaller buy in tourneys, and whatever else I can make time for. Coming with 3k to have fun with, should be a good time!
