Might be going, depends on how quickly we semi-expat to Mexico. Going to have to work on my Spanish, as the only non-basic word I can currently think of is "Langosta."

I think that the Borgata is in Atlantic City. Spanish may be useful there, but the predominate language is Jersey-esse.

Jamie - I am assuming I have to fly into Philly. Do you know if the airport there has shuttles or buses to Atlantic City?

Event #1 looks so juicy. A must play for me. The ladies event is secondary to event #1 for me, but I'm probably already going to be there since they're around the same time

I haven't figured out my exact schedule, but I'l definitely play the Ladies', and probably a bounty event (you gotta love the bounty equity for helping to get more action on big hands!).

Also, they're really pulling at my degen heartstrings with the all-in/fold event <3

debi, AC has a decent airport. Spirit airlines flies there for cheap...if Philly is your cheapest option, i think there's a train that runs regularly from philly to AC and tons of buses.

They sounded cheap in google - $148 RT. Then when I went to book it discovered they charge for every move you make - by the time you get through booking it - it is $273.58 lololol.

The worst is the weight restriction on the checked bags - only 40 pounds and I prob need 45-48 for a week hehe. Eliminating 5 pounds of clothes is painful. Plus I suspect my carry one might be too big for them which makes it even more difficult. Heavier stuff in the checked bag if I have to take my small carryon. Debi needs her stuff!

Can fly into Philly on Delta for $189 - but then have to deal with transportation to AC.

Guess I will check for other airlines when I get home this afternoon and see what I can find.

And WOW at how slow 2p2 is loading pages today!

I get great room rates because I regularly degen at the cash tables for 12+ hours per day, a few days per week.

During the series, I'll get rooms with two queen beds so I can share. If anyone wants to rent out the second bed in my room, I'll offer a great rate. Guaranteed to be cheaper than half of the poker rate. Let me know which dates you need, and I'll see if I'm going to be there. I might be coming and going a couple times during the series (not staying continuously)

Haven't been back to my hometown of Philadelphia for a while, but these are the options that I remember:

From the airport, the subway runs from there to downtown or a cab ride which was a flat rate $20 as of 2004.

From Downtown Philadelphia, it's 90 miles to AC.

Greyhound runs buses go direct from 10th & Filbert, or you can take the PATCO rail line at 8th and Market to Lindenwold and switch to an Atlantic City train.

Or if you go to 30th st station, there should be a train that goes to AC direct.

If there are a few people coming in at the same time. it might be nice to rent some kind of shuttle.

My trick to get to AC was to take one of the junket buses that cater to seniors who are going down for the day. I think I paid $12, for which I got a ride, $5 in quarters when I got there, a $5 meal voucher, and a $5 voucher for a future ride. Yes, I made a profit on the trip! This probably isn't practical for those who have a lot of luggage however.

Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks! I am definitely not going to fly Spirit into AC - I have enough disasters when I fly alone without risking baggage problems lol.

So into Philly it will be on my beloved Delta. (I just won't eat any sandwiches so I don't swallow needles lol)

Gonna see if I can get a ride with Sarah to AC - if not will prob sign up for a shuttle. If cab fares are less than $40-50 that is a viable option as well. I will be saving $100 just by flying into Philly so I can use that for transportation.

I'll play a few events, definitely the Ladies. I'll PM you my # dakota, if I'm not already in AC we can travel together. I recommend the train over the bus. Hope all the Grindettes will be there

I know its far away and room rates aren't out yet, but I might be looking to chop a room 9/6 - 9/10. If anyone else is a Harrahs/CET degen, the rates at Harrahs might not be too bad.

Anyone wanna do a group buffet at the Borgata buffet like the one at the WSOP?

Thought I would throw the idea out there, but I might not be the best person to organize large group activites.
