Hey guys,

A little background, my name is Grayson Nichols, I play as "The_Dean221" on FTP and "graybone" on Pokerstars. I've been a prominent winner at MTTs for 7 years, with over $4 million in cashes, and $750k+ profit. I'm currently a coach and training site pro over at Pocketfives Training, where I film videos and have ranked as high as #17 in the world prior to Black Friday. I was backed and mentored by Alex "AJKhoosier1" Kamberis for two years, before becoming backed by Chris Moorman for the following two years leading up to BF. I've been an MTT regular since 2005, and have never had a losing year. Since Black Friday, I've redirected my focus towards coaching/training, and am currently taking on a couple new students.

I've had success teaching players at any and all levels, from micros to HSMTTs. I came up playing mid stakes for years, and know exactly what it takes to crush MSMTTs and even more importantly, what it takes to make the jump to high stakes. My lessons revolve around hand history analysis/dissection, providing me all of the information needed to spot and plug any leaks you might have in your game. Whether you're a low stakes player looking to make the jump to mid, or a MSMTT regular hoping to learn what separates themselves from HSMTTers, I can be of service. Now providing a free 15-minute consultation with pricing options. Reach out to me via e-mail at gnichols22@gmail.com or DM me with any questions.

If you're interested in what coaching/mentoring with me consists of, please send me a PM and I'll give you a thorough description. Unlike many coaches, I never take on too many students, and maintain a personal and in-depth relationship with each and every one of my students. I am accessible to them at any and all hours of the day, and am constantly chatting/talking about the game with them through e-mail/Skype outside of normal lesson/coaching hours.

If you have any questions for me, don't hesitate to send me a PM. Also, if you'd be interested in asking any of my students questions about my coaching style, I know they'd gladly do so. As I mentioned earlier, I won't take on too many students due to the amount of attention I like to give each one, so get in touch with me ASAP before the spots fill up. Thanks for your time.

You can PM me, post in thread, or e-mail me at "gnichols22@gmail.com".

I played poker for 10 years and always wanted to get coaching but never did. I was unaware of how drastically flawed my approach was at the tables. Then one day last year, I was reading a pocketfives article about Squire’s (above poster) 3rd place in the millie.. I owe a huge thanks to Squire for that score he achieved, because the unfolding of events could have been very different for me had i not read that article.. he attributed a large portion of his growth as a poker player to his coach who revolutionized his game.. right there I decided to contact Grayson with hopes he would be able to coach me and that I could emulate similar success.. my expectations were exceeded.. he was very receptive and friendly in our correspondence, and I was excited at the potential of working together..

In our first lesson which was a HH review, it became glaringly obvious that my game was full of leaks.. previously, I would blame variance, bad beats and I basically thought like a fish.. over the following months, we worked on several aspects of my game and I have done over 60 hours of coaching with him thus far.. I just wish I had done this years ago..

His methodical approach to dissecting hands is astounding and he delves into incredible detail during his analysis.. some of the strongest elements of his coaching are: his understanding of game flow, rock solid fundamentals, well timed aggression, extrapolating different lines we can adopt based on the varying stack sizes around, and most importantly a very complex thought process that goes into each decision.. he notices everything at the table and that’s what definitely opened my eyes to how much information I was neglecting, that my opponents were freely giving away..

Gray has transformed the way I think about the game and i am very grateful for this.. He's a top bloke and we’ve become really good friends ever since our first lesson.. we continue to do lessons for a few hours every week and I am motivated for what the future holds.. any student would be lucky to have him as a coach..

Hi Dean. Am window shopping for a coach atm. From your opr you have very little play since 2011. Do you believe that you are up to date with the current changes in poker? Maybe you still play on other sites?

Hey River_Fish,

I think it's a very fair question, and Kyle fortunately answered a great deal of it for me above. I think my biggest ability to stay with the changing times (outside of the playing I still do on US sites and live) has been via coaching, where every single day I'm either doing HH review sessions of Stars hand histories, or I'm watching my students deep in Stars tourneys on my off-time. I've stayed very in tune with the changing times, and still believe that there are certain skill sets/principles/fundamentals that will hold true for winning poker players at all levels, and have found a great deal of success in imparting these upon my various students.

If you or anyone else has anymore questions, feel free to PM me or post. I appreciate all of the feedback and interest I've gotten via PM from many of you, and I look fwd to hearing from even more of you.

Thanks Squire. I Would never dare suggest that he has become terrible. I'm just being extra cautious this time around as I had a bad experience with a previous coach. His results speak for themselves really.

@Grayson I'll more than likely hook up with you on P5s fairly soon. And thanks for your response.

I have been working with Grayson the last few months and I have seen dramatic changes in my game. The value Grayson offers at such a low price is unheard of. Many people on here post offering lessons very few actually offer to coach you. Working with Grayson truly gives you a coach, someone who is readily available on Skype to throw the odd HH at inbetween lessons and more importantly if you are making a deep run and he is on there is no doubt he will have your table up.

This is so critical for your next coaching lesson as he takes the time to see the tournament live and understand the crucial dynamics that go into each hand. He does a great job of blending feel with numbers keeping you from being a number crunching robot.

In the past month or 2 I have won the Sunday Special on .FR for about 20k, chopped the Thursday KO on .FR, won the big ben on FTP and many other scores. He is a pleasure to work with you can't go wrong!

Hi Grayson,
I am looking for a coach. Live In New Jersey, near Atlantic City. Watched you vids on P5, then stopped watching due to the gap in dates. Now that NJ, PA, DE are legal, will you be posting new stuff on P5? I'd like to see something recent, hopefully with an American site -like Party/Borgota or WSOP/888. With Bovada included, I'm hoping that a well-coached American can earn a meager living without getting any grief from the government.
Thanks.
