re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

Cog, i feel very inspired by this thread somehow, and it pumps me up, all the succesful students you had really implies that you got descent skills in not only playing yourself, but more important, teaching others to play. Im a 19 year old student, so don't really have 400$ avaible. I been playing about 3 years, once ran 20 to 800 in reg speeds on stars br. withdrew etc. Now im back into poker, and decided i want to take it serious, depoed 40 bux on ftp, got rakeback deal etc.

What im trying to say is, i got a bit different deal you may want to consider. If you coach me, i will pay you 35% of my weekly winnings, no matter HOW HIGH i get, and no matter how much they extend the 400$ price of the coaching, for the next 3 months.

I know that unless i fail miserably this will extend the 400$ by a lot, but if you could teach me to long-term beat the games, i would be so grateful that i dont really mind, and beside from that, its my only opitunity since i cant just magically get 400 bux avai. to buy this extremely promising coaching package.

Hey Cake,
unfortunately I don't do staking deals, it has to be cash in advance. I know that sucks for you, and I'm not trying to be heartless. There are some coaches who do deals like this. I think Brokerstar was at one stage.

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

I did Pauls Super Turbo Course for 4 hours and have competed 3 out of 4 hours coaching so far.
Paul asked me to write my honest opinion in this thread and so i am going to do that here.
Paul is the second Coach I work with from HUSNG.com beside Rypac13 and I am very satisfied with both of them.

Paul is a very nice guy with good communication skills. He can explains difficult concepts very good and easy to follow.Aswell he is spotting leaks from you quickly. If you work with him you will see that he really cares that you understand the things he explained and if he thinks you didnt he is checking that. thats a very good attitude in my opinion.

If your playing style is very aggressive and sometimes a bit spewy like me he will make you understand how much value you are wasting with some dumb plays.
In some spots he is a bit too nitty in my opinion but for aggro players like me tightness is only a good thing to learn too.

Worth the money

Hope that this is helping you in your decicion to choose a good coach.

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

I have completed 3 of the 4 sessions of Cog's course also. It definitely helped my game and helped me in categorizing opponents and adjust my strategy given their type. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to seriously improve their game.

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

I used to play 6max superturbos 5$ and 10$. I got sick with it and decided to move to a different game.

In the begining I was thinking like I can learn to beat heads up games. But after losing 100$ I decided to contact Paul and ask for coachings.
400$ is deffinitely a very good investement for the knowledge Paul has.

Thank you !

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

I took the ST fundamental course a couple weeks ago, I wanted to get a decent number of games before I left feedback. Sample is still small but I have a 2% adjusted roi over ~1kish games.
Probably would took a much much longer time to get a good grasp of the strategy without Cog's help.

He is excellent at communicating with his students, we worked more as friends than mentor-student, which makes our coaching sessions super comfortable.

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

Have done a good few hours with Cog now,I have had many coaches in the past for different games,but Cog by far is the best.

What makes him better than most is, he not only teaches the correct way to beat the games,he gets it stuck in your head.

Very easy to become a winner at ST HU with Cogs help

Thanx again buddy

With the Hyper-turbos coming on Stars now is the time to get coaching in them. The "new" format will be a goldmine for the next 6 months.
Contact me if you're interested.

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

Do you think the average player at stars hts is better than the one at ftp sts? What roi would be sustainable at the 30 hts in your opinion?

Just asking because maybe I'm interested in some coaching after my business trip to the us.

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

Here's my results after getting coached by cog:

before::

after, $5 ST::

after, $10 ST::

When I where in Bali I hocked up with cog. I dint have any expectations, or to be honest I had. I thought it would be a waste of money. Thought that I was pretty good, but were just running bad and that coaching would just be burning money. Thought I might even be able to teach cog something. Many thoughts, and a big ego

His coaching is divided into 4 parts ::
How to play the TP
How to play the LP
How to play the TAG/LAG
HH review.

The problem was that I knew how to play all of them, I thought!
Then cog opened his mouth and I was totally lost. The problem was that I never had a strategy to categorize them and played more on feeling.

The next big thing was that he added another dimension of playing against all of them.
I never limped before, thought it was for **** and bad players. Amazing tool to have in my arsenal!
And I played them more on feeling, for the most that feeling was tilt.

I was always pushing around 10-25BB because I didnt know what else to do with the hands.
When I looked in HEM I was loosing bigtime from 40BB down, because I thought that they would play midgame and lategame the same way they play in early game. So many leaks that I was ashamed.

And then I found the fold button aswell. They arent bluffing as much as I would like to think they do.
Many things can be said. But im so happy that I took the course. I made the money back in one week.Cog is a really good teacher, maybe because he was a school teacher before? He was really patient and explained things very clear. Besides that he was a great guy to hand around with and spend my time with in Bali.

Thanks Cog
And good luck to you all thats gonna take his course!

I think the Stars players are worse atm. They haven't gone through the learning curve that FTP players have experienced. I think in the long term 3-4% is possible at the 30's, however even higher may be possible while the players are new to the format as they are now.
