Thanks to Paul

Hey guys!
I passed the course of Paul on 1 july. The course is awesome its easy to understand and learn even if you dont speak english perfectly i say it because my english is not perfect. Paul explains things very simple and clear. The system of playing he teaches you is simple too but in that simplicity is the power. Also Paul is very nice guy. After we finish 4th session in which Paul did review of some my games, gave me advices for some hands, explained me my leaks he said if i will have problem and will not understand why, he gives me a session for free. I hope i will not use this offer . So I liked this staff that Paul dont leave you alone after the course is finished.
Now speaking about results.Before the course i was a .... FISH? May be. Exactly after the course i played 6.25 turbo on Stars and due to bad run and tilt problem had some ugly swings and i decided to start playing regular speed i reviewed and learned all Paul's staff and in 45 days i moved from 5.25 to 31.50 which i play now. I was not playing too much , aproximately 10 matches daily on average.Was playing 5.25 1man, 10.50 and 21 4man mostly.
Im very glad with this course and with Paul.He really helped me so much.Im very appreciated to Paul. I recomend him to everyone.The money you will pay for course you will not loose its like small investition to the big project.
And finally here is my holdem manager graphs the black line is where i finished course.

Hey all I'm about to take a break from coaching. At least a few months. If I already have a commitment to coach you then I will honor it of course. But I'm not taking any new students.

3k games in supers is like playing 100 regular speed games and getting good results and then telling the world you are now coaching them at your luckbox hourly rate. At least show your HEM all in EV luck while you are at it.

Also, it is going to be a much different story being able to have your students come back with "good results" stories with supers compared to your regular speed students who can almost guarantee good results with coaching

Agreed its a small sample. Let's see where I am after 10k games
I'll get my students to post.. when I get some!
Also I don't use HEM or PT3.. we'll just have to see where I'm at in a few months.

Easy there tiger.

Cog's fantastic reg speed results def help to indicate that he's not just some donk running hot. What do you want, a 10k games requirement before someone is allowed to coach? "3k games = 100" is wayyyy over the top, I see very good evidence to believe that he is a winner at superturbos, and I'm happy to arrange a small prop bet (some amount on his ROI next 1500 games) if you really think he's likely to not even be 2% (let's do that via PM so as to not distract thread).

The best evidence? I gave him one superturbo coaching session a few months ago. See how valuable they are! I'll teach you how to get twice as good results as me, too!

I didn't want my post to come across as too "hater". I even asked an impartial 2p2'er if it was and they said it looked alright. I certainly never used the word donk. I was just implying that he is likely having some good luck. I do think Cog is a great coach based on the amount of students and his results and those of his students.

And LoLz at the student surpassing the master with only one lesson!

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

I was taking coaching few months ago when Paul offered the course. Helped me a lot - however I decided to get back to cashgame after the course payed for itself. He is a solid coach and knows how to exxplain averything in a way that you can easily understand it.

Regarding the 3k ST games: I think the variance is skyrocking high on the ST and probably you cannot define the average ROI over 3k games, probably you need 20k games but never the less he is winning a lot so I think it is a good trand and he will continue to rock!

Despite he is a lifetime luckbox.

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

I think people overestimate variance...
if we look at from a mathmatical point of view:

Cog dissonance has the following data:
Binominal distribution, win or lose.
I took a 2% rake.
6% roi, which is a 54% winrate. n = 3000 games
std dev = sqrt(3000*0.54*0.46) = 27.2983
Xs(population average) = 3000*0.54 = 1620 games won.

Lets assume we wanna test if Cog dissonance has a 1% roi or higher, with a significance level of 1% (means we are 99% sure cog atleast has a 1% roi)
1% roi is a winrate of 51.5%
U(average hypothised) = 3000*0.515 = 1545
a = 0.01

H0: u <= 1545
H1: u > 1545

We can normal approximate the binominal distribution because of central limit theory, n >= 30

Z statistic because std dev is known. upper tail 1 sided test.
Continuity correction of +0.5

Z = Xs - u / std dev = (1620+0.5) - 1545 / 27.2983 = 2.765

p value = 0.033

p value < 0.01 (1% signifiance level)
so
We reject H0, there is enough evidence to say that Cog Dissonance has a roi of atleast 1%. In fact we are 99.67% sure.

Congrats xD?

Cog is definitely someone I admire and strive to be like. He is a great ability to categorize his opponents and adjust his game as a result. Definitely recommended!

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

Milkyway,

The thing about that example is that it just proves he's a winner (which Mers already claimed previously I believe and I doubt anybody would refute) in the games.

But say he gets in 25 games an hour. 1% ROI might be $3 a game after rakeback, 6% might be about $13 a game after rakeback. The hourly range would then be $75-325.

Regardless, Paul is a great coach and his hourly rate represents realistic market demand from what I have seen. It also happens that his hourly in these has probably been near or even over what he charges, but you don't pay somebody $200hr because they make $200hr, you pay them $200hr to improve your game and make multiples of that $200 back than you would've had you not received coaching.
