re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

genher - out of curiosity, are you you single tabling or 2-tabling?

If you're single tabling, how many games are you getting in per hour. Same question if you're 2-tabling. Keep up the sick heater, looking very impressive!

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

I am single tabling. I think it's too small a number of games to get any meaningful hourly stats. My av. duration is about 14 min.

all thx to Paul

Just curious...all you guys that done this course. Are you using the same limping all buttons strategy as Cog uses to get these results?

cog style is much limpier than most (small ball) but that doesn't mean that he he limps all buttons. He is very adaptive (that's what the whole course is about) and will raise vs some villains or in some situations. He will correct me if I am wrong but he has never advocated to limp ALL buttons.

To answer your question, I limp about 600 times more that I used to. yes. and for someone that used to raise anything T high or above and any 2 suited that hasn't been easy. But having done both I don't think I'll ever go back to raising my top 70%. Certainly works for me!

Update on my above chart: I have played an other 150 games for an extra $750 bringing the total profit to $3250 since cog coaching.

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

I have had three hours of coaching from Paul and am happy with how he has helped my game.

I never really struggled with most players just the aggressive ones and our third lesson covered these guys and I have been sailing on ever since.

I was a solid 6 max player for a long time and played much higher stakes in cash than I have been with HUSNG's but I was getting bored, haden't played in a while and fancied a change to find my poker spark again.

So as a challenge/ prop bet with my house mate, I set out to build a new roll starting from the $2 HUSNG games and enlisted Cog as I got to the $10 level to simply iron out some creases that this new format bought with it.

I have not been playing any real volume and my graph was always going up, but you can see that the last 100 games (where Cog helped me out) are a real step forward.

I'm a 26% ROI player in just heads up SNG's but that's only about 560 games so far. But a lot of that has to do with running good/ really learning to exploit the player types perfectly.

I'm playing the $20 games and I'll probably just move straight up to the $50's after I play a few hundred more games.

Everyone has done a great job of portraying Paul that I don't feel the need to add too much more but it'll definaltley be money well spent.

Cog should re name the course, the 'HUSNG made simple course' as he really does deliver his lessons in the most easy to understand way. I've been coached by some great players over the years and I have to say that as great as they all were, Pauls teaching background certainly comes through.

Good luck to anyone that gets help from this guy whilst his rates are frankly this cheap.

would be a good idea but not sure if all of his students play the same kind of game (ie: regular vs. turbo). not sure if that makes a difference or not.

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

A couple questions for Paul or anyone has worked with him. I assume your talking over the net, what software are you using? Are you ghosting Paul as he plays any? Is there e-material given to the students?

Im interested in learning a good foundation for HU play. Im pretty good at the small stakes SNGs and wanted to make sure this would be +EV for me before I drop the coins. So these theory/concepts I would learn from Paul would work in the $5 matches? I have seen people who teach NL and crush at the medium to high level stakes but there game has evolved and no longer works for the small stakes which is where I play. Any info would be appreciated.

Hello, im taking $300 foundation course for husng at the moment. I can answer you some questions : Paul uses Skype, In this course we talk about specific oponent types, how to exploit their mistakes, after each player type we take "you vs Paul" match and he checks if you apply ideas pratically. He gives some material, but its more like a program about what he will talk. He encourages to take notes during session, so thats where i make material for me. Its easy to apply his ideas in $5's (im playing there ATM), it improved my game vastly.

Thumbs up re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

I'd just like to say that anyone who is new to HU should definitely take Cog's course, because he explains his thoughts in pretty simple and understandable manner, and very soon you will be able to apply alot of concepts by yourself. Very good coach.

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

Alright Paul,

Just wanted to say thanks for the coaching last month. I'd totally lost my head from some prolonged run bad and a long breakeven/marginal winning stretch.

Booked several hours with Paul to try and get myself back on track and well, what can i say. He got me back on track and then some. Had my first $10,000 month last month and currently having my best month ever up around $18,000 so far.

I'll post graphs at the end of the month but thanks again mate you've been an immeasurable help and i owe you so much.

Also up your rates one time, it's embarrasing how little you charge.

re: Spin and Go coaching with Cog Dissonance

hey

I just wanted to chime in and say that Paul is a very good coach. First of all he has a coaching program, unlike most coaches who just do sweat sessions, so that's definitely a plus.
He explains his thoughts well, and always gives a reason for an action and makes sure the student has understood the concepts before moving on.
I am a msnl hu cash player and decided to learn husngs in order to increase my action and after trying on my own I understood that I was doing something wrong. Paul has given me the steering I needed and it's going much better since I started the coaching although I haven't played that many games yet.

Anyway, I would definitely recommend him to any sng newbie out there.
Also, his hourly rate is pretty low!
