Small stakes MTTSNG and MTT coaching from experienced tournament player
I am a video instructor at Grinder School. I have a couple of years experience primarily tutoring calculus, precalculus and math SATs full time, so I am an expert in explaining concepts individually.
I am really good at analyzing HHs and part of my motivation for coaching is that this is something I enjoy.
I have been posting on 2+2 for a long time and am well known. I am fair and professional in my approach.
I have several 5-figure cashes, including $64K for 2nd place in a WCOOP $500 PLHE, $51K for 5th place in the Paradise Million, $30K for 3rd place in an FTOPS $100 rebuy PLO, and $20K for winning a live $1K.
My all time OPR statistics are $303K profit and 41% ROI in MTTs on Poker Stars and $47K profit and 50% ROI on Full Tilt.
Lately, I have played more MTTSNGs and beat 18, 45, and 180 player slow or turbo structures. I have 26% ROI in 12/180s on 1,374 games in 2010 (one of the highest ROIs for this in 2010) and 29% ROI on 5,973 12/180 games all time. Also 18% ROI on 1,620 games on 27/45 and 20% ROI on 4,745 games of 12/45.
I am particularly good at mathematical and strategic issues. I understand the mathematics of pushbot and resteal situations and have several post on HSMTT where I essentially solved a mathematical issue. I know how to play late stages of MTTSNGs and handle bubble and ICM issues. I understand different strategic approaches in different formats of MTTSNGs. I don't just pushbot, and "play poker" and take creative approaches in MTTSNGs.
I have been doing really well in tournaments in games other than NLHE, and have been crushing PLO8 MTTs lately, and I understand the adjustments in these games to tournament play.
My current rate is $50/hour.

Re: Small stakes MTTSNG and MTT coaching from experienced tournament player
Hi could you do profit share/coaching instead of hourly rate? Ive been playing for a few years but need to learn the technical stuff better. I seem to be able to win live but online drive me crazy cos i just cant do any good. I know i make a lot of mistakes but a lot of the time i dont know what to do in certain situations and a lot of the time i do stuff i dont really learn on my own cos i dont know if what i did was right or wrong.

I know a lot of low stakes players don't have bankroll for coaching. I am willing to discuss a profit share, but I am mostly into coaching rather than staking.

Re: Small stakes MTTSNG and MTT coaching from experienced tournament player
Hey, new to 2+2, so don`t know any specifics.. maybe you can say how long this offer will be here?
Started to play seriously at end off summer (watched some jackal69 mtt sng videos) and results are bit too good, wanted to ask after what distance you can approximately now your ROI?
These are my stats, i now way too low distance etc
just wanted to ask, if after some time i will think that i need some coaching, your offer will be here? most likely i will need some coaching, because i want to improve my game to the maximum..

Think maybe English isn't your main language. I said current rate because I can't be sure about the long term, but I have no specific plans to change my rate. I appreciate the interest.

Let me revise my answer to the question about coaching for profit. If you are interested in that, please go ahead and PM me. Can't say I will agree to this approach with everyone or whether I may only take cash clients later on.
Also, you can reach me initially at jrhammerx@yahoo.com in addition to PM.

You think you can help me with the Full Tilt 90-man KO's?

That structure start with some chips, so there is more preflop play early on. There is a large ante, which makes loose pushbotting profitable. The bounty also encourages aggression a little, particularly in the mid stages of the tournament.
FTP has 45 players and others with no antes, and that structure encourages tighter play and discourages large open shoves.
Generally, the KOs are good for an aggressive player and the no ante are better for a tight player.
You have to adapt to the format. My largest cash is in PLHE, and part of the reason is I am fairly good at making those adaptations.

2006. The final table was played live in the Bahamas. Think the final table was played in different locations every quarter. Paradise treated you really well.
I got in on the 2nd $100 sat I played. The sats were very soft with overly loose play early on, and you couldn't unregister. It was pretty easy to take advantage of people playing scared in the online portion. I played to tight early in the live final table. I wasn't experienced at high stakes final tables and wasn't ready for how tight most of the players were playing. Busted out when big stack open shoved 14xBB effective from the SB with 43o and beat my JJ. Overshoves weren't as popular then, but he knew I would reshove on him light.

This looks like some of the best coaching value in the forum.

Re: Small stakes MTTSNG and MTT coaching from experienced tournament player
A few things. As to who is right for coaching. If you can't pay my fee, I have decided it isn't something I want to get involved in. I don't want to try to evaluate whether you can win and try to collect from you later on. I know some people are doing well in staking, but it isn't what I am good at. I am sure coaching would be worth the money for a microstakes grinder.
If your play is really bad, don't worry, I am sure I can help you a lot. If you are winning at microstakes or playing a few tables at a time, then you are probably a good candidate for my coaching.
If you are a winning fulltime player at decent stakes, then you probably should get a coach at a higher rate. I probably can help you, but I may not be that much stronger than you, and I don't want to take a chance on overrepresenting what I can do.
My approach is oriented towards going over your HHs and sharkscope results and answering your questions. I generally would start with going over HHs and making general evaluations and recommendations for your play. Then I would answer your questions and comments. Then I would want you to play some more, try to apply my recommendations, and send me HHs.
I am more used to the noninteractive approach and think it is more cost effective, but we could also use teamviewer and so on, mostly to do similar things, go over HHs, answer questions, and make suggestions and recommendations on play.

Re: Small stakes MTTSNG and MTT coaching from experienced tournament player
Hi betgo,
Possibly interested in taking you up on a few sessions. Never had a coach before, trying to improve my game as reading can only help so much.
Background: Recreational player for years, started taking things more seriously this past Summer. Mainly a $2 180 grinder, couple deep runs in large field MTTs but no serious results there.
21% ROI over 4000 @ $2 180's
I would like to accomplish 2 things: Improve my 180 turbo game to roll myself for the 12s, and learn how to play the mid/end stages of MTTs a lot better than I know how to at the moment.
There are also a couple more abstract questions and strategy related things I'd be interested in discussing.
