Re: Providing MTT Coaching at all stakes

I just wrapped up my first 6-hr package with Matt. These sessions are a sick value. I feel like he identified a leak with every hand we looked at. He's quite open-minded about playing styles, but always looking to identify the optimal lines against specific villains and situations.
The first half of my package was very specifically geared towards boning up my live play in preperation for the Colorado Poker Championships Blackhawk series.
Spoiler:

The second half of the coaching package was online play review. Let us hope it produces the same spikage in my online results.

Tx Matt.

Someone asked this in the censored thread last month, will just quote my response from there:

Quote:
Tri came to me this past fall (way before all this stuff came out) and asked me to make him a video series on MTT strategy and I did, and I tried to do the best job I could. I submitted it to him this fall and haven't dealt with it since, and have played no part in the packaging or the marketing of the series.

If I could afford to be taught by you I would do it in a second. You sounds like a poker genius and I love tourneys. I'll remember you if I can come up with the money to be taught by you.

Re: Providing MTT Coaching at all stakes

I've had 5 sessions with mlagoo and I am very impressed with his coaching.
1) He is very honest. Due to black friday, I didn't have a lot of hand histories to share with him. He was upfront and said he thinks the most effective way he could teach me was through hand histories and wanted to be sure that I still wanted lessons.
2) He is generous with his time. I felt like he consistently went above and beyond whatever commitments he made to me through the package. I have emailed him several times and he has gotten back to me to discuss hands even after the package ended.
3) He is a good teacher that can teach all levels. I've discussed everything from $1 buy in MTTs to $10ks and he gives me a lot of ideas on how to play against players of all levels.
4) I think he taught me solid fundamentals. There's a lot we discussed and I feel like I am a much better player because of his lessons. The stuff I learned can be applied in every tournament and will help me evaluate new situations as the game keeps evolving.

If you get coaching from him, you won't regret it.

Re: Providing MTT Coaching at all stakes

Hey all,

So I decided to take a position that was offered to me at a law firm because I'm planning to return to law school this fall while I wait out the U.S. government. I'm going to continue playing live part-time and continue coaching on the side, but because I'm a weekend warrior at this point, I'm going to lower my hourly rate to $100/hr and just park it there for the foreseeable future. Bulk purchase deals are still available, etc. Will contact a mod to update the OP accordingly.
