My students have made well in excess of $200,000 so far this year on 18-man SNGs (written 27th November 2012!). At the time of writing, BigTunna99 is #2 in the world for the year on all stakes, and Sooo Tilted #2 in the world for $16-35 stakes (he changed game type after October so his profit has been made in just 10 months). Agente0, MINTZ146, Akkerx and KingWhite55 reset stats end of July, so these stats reflect their last 4 months, in combination they made a lot more over the course of the whole year.

Video discussion is available for each of the lessons, so after watching the videos and studying them over and over, you can really grasp the concepts with group discussion and my input. ACTIVE learning is far more important and productive than just passive learning (watching a bunch of videos without really internalizing the ideas correctly).

This series is the most in-depth and advanced 18-man SNG series released to date, with running time 76 minutes longer than the previous series.

Starting Out in SNGs Coaching Series

Hi I'm Ivan aka ILS007 and achieved Supernova Elite on Pokerstars last year grinding for just 4 months! I enjoyed sharing the journey with 2+2ers in the Poker Goals & Challenges section, you can read the thread here: Supernova Elite by November 28th

Over my SNG career I've earned over $230,000 including rakeback. Despite the weird shape of my sharkscope graph, I have earned a higher hourly rate year-in year-out, which is very rare for most SNG professionals who if you carefully check their stats will often have made the bulk of their earnings in the easier days of 2008-2010. I have become well known for filling up SNG lobbies (sorry!) and grinding 30-60 tables at a time, so even with a small profit/game the hourly rate becomes very good.

Here are my stats, firstly overall earnings using 58% rakeback (I spent a great deal of time making sure this would be fair and accurate, I will expand in detail should anyone want clarification to how the numbers come to this). Secondly, I've filtered for stats relevant to the coaching series I am promoting. I have been careful to filter out satellites and FPP games which often falsely inflate a players stats - be careful to check this out before taking players stats at face value! My attitude is to offer absolute transparency in my stats, claims and what I do, and would encourage prospective students of any course to do their due dilligence before ill-advised spending of lots of money. I will be happy to answer more detailed questions regarding stats/claims.

I have been working tirelessly over the last few months to develop a sit and go coaching series which surpasses others in quality yet is offered to players of all abilities and bankrolls at an affordable price point.

The series is targetted at players who grind $1-30 buy-in SNGs and are break-even, slightly winning or even losing players. The series is suitable for all SNGs but most specifically 6-18 man variants. MTT/Cash Game players who might be interested to transition to SNGs would find this series ideal.

This is the first of three series, the next two are being developed and will cover advanced and elite strategy. My goal is for this series to create an expert foundation which I use in my game and coach to all my students, and upon enjoying and getting great value from this series, continue working with you on the advanced and elite series to bring you right to the top of SNGs!

I love coaching. Before I got into poker, I played chess internationally and captained Scotland at U-18 level, as well as participated individually in the European and World Youth Championships. I also got into coaching at that time and coached international players and junior teams. My background in chess, and the analytical study required to get to the top hugely influenced and influences my poker game and approach to learning and working.

To date, I have coached from micro stakes up to Supernova Elite, and the vast majority of my students including my SNE student last year started with me at low stakes SNG/MTT. I am the coach of the #1 $30-100 18-man SNG player in the world based on Sharkscope, and he had never played 18-mans until we started working on them at the end of last year. Here is my poker coaching Testimonial Page.

With sufficient motivation and application, you really can go from starting out to being at the top of sit and gos. It isn't easy, but nothing worth doing is

This is already quite long so I'll leave it at that. Please ask any questions you have, here is probably the best place to do it so that everyone can see the replies.

Good luck!
-Ivan

Private One-to-One Coaching

I am now accepting students on an hourly-coaching basis. To book please visit: Poker Courses, and scroll to the bottom. I have an integrated booking and payment system so you can secure the coaching in a matter of minutes.

What does the coaching entail and how does it work?

The coaching generally involves Hand History review and analysis using Universal Replayer and ICM/Equity software. We cover advanced concepts such as manually adjusting ICM results for situational/dynamic factors, post-flop analysis including ranging, estimating equity and adjusting according to villain types, to name a few key themes. If you have a specific leak that needs plugged, we will plug it. 2, 6, 9, 10 and 18 man SNGs are my main focus. I also coach for MTTs.

You will require a microphone for the lessons, which will be hosted using professional conferencing software. You will receive an email confirming the lesson, and also an access link to your private lesson. Please email hand history files to ivan (at) professionalpokervideos.com at least 24 hours before the lesson time. This will give me time to prepare so we don't waste any time.

You can either pick out a selection of hands you are keen to work on, or send me a zipped folder of all the games you've played in the last week/month etc. I have recently worked with a software developer to create a poker study tool called Analyzer which will streamline those big databases to find the exact spots we wish to focus on in the coaching. If you use it yourself, there is a function to automatically email me the hands that we wish to study, in advance of the lesson at the click of a button. You can get it here: Professional Poker Software.

Pricing

.£125/hour*

.£500 for Five-Hour Coaching Program* (1 hour free) - if you choose this option, entire prepayment is required at least 24 hours before the first lesson, and no partial refunds are available. The package consists of two 2-hour lessons and a final 1-hour consolidation lesson.

I am aware that my coaching rates, whilst very competitive in the mid/high-stakes SNGs field (most charge $200+/hr), are much dearer than many other SNG coaches. If you are a micro/low stakes SNG grinder you may find those coaches more suitable for your bankroll and present needs. If you want to excel and have future aspirations of becoming a Supernova Elite though, I'd welcome you on board!

Group Coaching

Available upon request. Kindly email ivan (at) professionalpokervideos.com with the number of you looking to be coached together, the game and buy-in levels you play and requirements you are looking for in the coaching. The rates per person will be significantly discounted compared to the 1-1 coaching, so it's definitely a cost-effective option and very effective.

Rules

*Prices not applicable to SNG players of $60 buy-in level or higher. Please email ivan (at) professionalpokervideos.com for a custom rate, giving details of the game and buy-in level you play, and how many hours coaching you are after.

*Prices not applicable to 18-man SNG players of $30 buy-in level. Please email ivan (at) professionalpokervideos.com for a custom rate, giving details of the game and buy-in level you play, and how many hours coaching you are after.

*Prices not applicable to 6-max hyper SNG players of $30 buy-in level or higher. Please email ivan (at) professionalpokervideos.com for a custom rate, giving details of the game and buy-in level you play, and how many hours coaching you are after.

I reserve the right to cancel a coaching lesson giving at least 24 hours notice. In exceptional circumstances I may have to cancel in case of emergency after this time, in which case you will be refunded within 24-48 hours of the lesson time, usually much sooner.

Thanks, and good luck!

-Ivan

I'm a bit confused. I look you up on sharkscope. And you are in the negative. I assume that because of rakeback you are still a winning player. But you were + $75,000 dollars 40,000 games ago. How do you fall into over negative $75,000 dollars and still expect people to want to learn from you/ Im only asking because I was going ot sign up for your site until I looked you up on sharkscope.

Thanks for your interest, I stated this in "Over my SNG career I've earned over $230,000 including rakeback. Despite the weird shape of my sharkscope graph, I have earned a higher hourly rate year-in year-out, which is very rare for most SNG professionals who if you carefully check their stats will often have made the bulk of their earnings in the easier days of 2008-2010". So my hourly rate is higher than it was when I was +$75,000 pre-rakeback profit on Sharkscope. The graph was quite damaged by my Supernova Elite chase in 4 months at 3 million VPP pace, which meant my ROI/table was far from optimal and the games were far more post-rakeback profit heavy (details at Supernova Elite by November 28th).

I would hope my coaching is of interest to people since my main student is #2 in the world for 18-man SNGs at the time of writing this post, and my other main student is profiting very heavily and well ahead of Supernova Elite pace for the year (made over $23,000 in March). They learned the 18-man SNGs for the first time only 4 months ago.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion!

Re: Supernova Elite ILS007 SNG Poker Training Course just £10/month over $230,000 SNG winnings!

Ivan is a very skilled pokerplayer. His graph shows how he is doing and that's amazingly good. He also wins a lot of extra money because he is SNG elite and I saw him many times in the SNG leaderbords, so the money he actually won is much more.

If you are interested to win as much as he did (or close to it) you should take him as your coach. His English is perfect and he is a nice guy who explains all the pokerstrategies very clear.

In 2 word: Highly recommended!

Re: Supernova Elite ILS007 SNG Poker Training Course just £10/month over $230,000 SNG winnings!

Hi guys,

I thought I would post a review on the course, which I have spent the last few days studying.

It is important to set out a little about Ivan's credibility and volume – this is critical when deciding to instruct a coach. Simply, he has the qualifications – you can see by his graph that he has played a large volume, with success, and thus is more than qualified to write this course. Good, that's out of the way.

As for me, I am an "above average" player, but not shattering any records. I have played for about 3 years online, and was running at around 4% on FT, on the $11 and $6.5 mans, over about 3,300 tournies. Again, very small sample and not an amazing ROI, but I think I have enough understanding of the game (at the low stakes) to be able to sensibly review a beginners course and I have read many, many books, am a member of DTB and Cardrunners, have reviewed lots of videos etc etc, yada yada. Having lost my roll when FT when bust, I started grinding $1.50s 9 man turbos on PS and am about 8% over 1000 tournies – again, a pathetically small and statistically irrelevant sample size, but I can only comment on the volume I have played.

I understand from Ivan that this is likely to be a 3 stage course, a "beginner", "advanced" and "elite" course. The advanced and elite courses are in production and will be available to purchase separately in due course.

So, what can you expect for your money?

Lessons

The idea behind the course, is that you download a series of videos from the website, each around 10-15 minutes in length. This may sound short – but this is more than sufficient as Ivan doesn't waste time saying "hello" etc he immediately gets into critical concepts – which are split into two "sets" of videos. The first video explains the concepts and the second video runs through hand examples, and challenges you to see if you can apply the concepts presented in the previous video. I like this.

The course lessons are as follows:

Part One
The Early Game Pre-Flop Part I - Theory
The Early Game Pre-Flop Part II - Theory
The Early Game Pre-Flop - Exercises and Examples

The Early Game Post-Flop - Theory
The Early Game Post-Flop - Exercises and Examples

Part Two
The Middlegame - Theory
The Middlegame - Exercises and Examples

Part Three
The Bubble - Theory
The Bubble - Exercises and Examples

Heads-Up - Theory
Heads-Up - Exercises and Examples

Part Four
Introduction to Variance
Away from the Tables

Bonus Section
Fundamental Probabilities

The videos deal primarily with 6/9/18 man SNGs, but I found there to be more of a focus on 9 mans. This, actually, for the purposes of this course, isn't a problem, because the concepts discussed are generally applicable to all of these forms of SNGs. This is a beginner course, and the more detailed discussion on how to adjust depending on the format isn't necessary.

I really should stress how clear Ivan's teaching style is – it really is to the point and easy to understand. It is critical that you take notes as you go along, or you WILL NOT get the most out of the course. He covers A LOT of stuff per video.

Who should buy this course?

I think there is a huge amount of content here for those who are losing and break even players – beginning players will learn a tonne from this – seriously, and you will see a drastic improvement to your game. If you just can't seem to beat even the lowest stakes, then this course is for you.

And one of the CRITICAL aspects of this course – and this is massively important – is the forum which you gain access too. Here, you can post hand histories, and Ivan himself will review them and discuss them with you. I have been following how often he logs onto the forum over the last couple of weeks, to see if his "forum coaching" claim is justified – and – it is. He genuinely responds to his members' queries – and that is worth far more than the price of the course, because he is very skilled in the game and knows what he is talking about. Even plugging one leak can drastically increase your ROI, and this is a service he offers.

If you are serious about improving – then this is excellent.

Who should not buy this course?

If you are an above average player and have studied the usual books, Moshman, Shaw, Harrington, Kill Everyone, Mathematics of Poker (list goes on...) know what ICM is and how it applies and its limitations, if you understand Nash and why this is unexploitable but not always the most profitable, when to 3 bet, understand equity, understand villain ranges etc, levelling etc, then this course may probably seem slightly basic for you – these concepts are also not really discussed - my advice is to wait for the advanced course which should be out in the next few months.

Conclusion

This is a well written course and will be of huge benefit to many, many players. Ivan responds to emails quickly and intelligently, and, as mentioned above, the coaching he provides via the forum is invaluable – and if you are serious about improving – this will do your game wonders. If you are never really certain what hands to raise in what position, when do you set mine, when can you call with speculative hands – what considerations are there when calling with speculative hands, if you don't know what to shove on the bubble from what position and how stacks sizes can influence this decision etc – then buy this course – you won't regret it – if you take notes (again take notes – you are serious about improving, aren't you?), you will become a far, far better player and this course will plug A TON of leaks that loads of beginner players have.

Well done to Ivan for developing an excellent and useful course.

Good luck at the tables.
