Best Videos for a beginner? Best Videos for a beginner?

09-22-2012 , 03:57 PM
I have a friend who is just starting out in poker, and I'd like to recommend him some videos to watch. However, I'm not sure what I should be recommending. I'm looking for videos geared directly for beginners. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am working on a series for beginners right now, I have 7 videos so far. I have plans for the next few but am also looking for ideas that would fit well in a beginner series. Thanks for any help, and maybe what I have so far could help.

Umm also, does anyone know how to embed the YouTube Videos?

I can highly recommend Coaching Kristy by BalugaWhale for beginners. There are two seasons eight episodes each I think and they are great. They can be found on DeucesCracked. You get to follow how a beginner poker player evolves with Andrews help.

Embedding

1) put the tags [youtube*] [/*youtube] (remove the *, I had to put * so the tags will show up here)

2) Between those two tags, simply paste the letters/numbers after the = on the youtube link. Everything until the & letter (usually it'll say youtube.com/watchblahblahblah=abe8d9ejd8&feature and you want after the = all the way until the & part).

That should properly embed. If it doesn't work, hit edit and try again, sometimes i forget a few characters because of _ type signs and such.

So it'll look like (minus the * signs) [yout*ube]ad7ed9ej_3d[/y*outube] when you type it.

Haha, Sorry to hear that you didn't like not seeing the results I changed the format for these quick hands so now its all in the same video. If you want I will post one showing the new format.

This is the "quiz video"

Here are the results.

^Haha cool nah it's not that I didn't like your video it's just that I start itching to know but I guess that's something I could do without in reality so probably better off practising to worry less about the results, anyway enough on that you're doing a good job mat ekeep it up.

My thought process on some live hands at 25NL 6-Max. Let me now what you think, trying to teach but mostly to players who are new, I would like to get advise from real poker players to make sure I am not saying anything stupid!

3betting large a loose raiser with trash (95o from what i remember) because kristy was judging at 2nd level is not for beginner , definitely

edit : beginners don't start at 25nl, especially considering the games toughness in 2014
When the series was made (2010 i think) you could beat 25nl pretty easy
